I was at Starbucks the other day with my nine year old. She wanted me to get her a venti mocha nonfat latte with extra foam and cinnamon with an extra shot. It was $47.50 but she got a good report card so I let her have it. Do you think I should have insisted she get a de-caff? :confused3

.

If it was a treat? I wouldn't be concerned. I was raised on caffinated Coke and am average height.

I probably would have ordered her a decaf. She probably wouldn't have known the difference.

No way would I order my DD a caffeine drink, but then again she is only 2. The thought of her on caffeine is scary!

Do you think you can send Starbucks through the mail? :confused3
I'll take a pumpkin spice. Thanks. :thumbsup2

Did she clean her room that night. Last time my Dsis got a Venti sized drink from Starbucks she cleaned her whole house. If so I say get her one at least once a week. :thumbsup2

Hmmmmmmm...Designer coffee for a child? Next thing you know she'll want a designer purse. :sad2: ;) :teeth:

$13.50 for a cup of coffee?

Why did the OP get edited from $9.50 to $13.50? :confused3

It's under $5 for a venti mocha latte - even with all of the extras.

I don't see anything wrong with it---she deserved a reward & that's what she requested. Personally I would've gotten her a decaf because I can't imagine my own kids on caffeine. :rotfl:

What I can't get over was the price. $13.50 for a coffee?! :faint: Can you tell I don't drink coffee, much less go to Starbucks? :rotfl:

That was my thought too. Where on EARTH is this Starbucks?!?!?!

(As for the drink itself, sure, why not? A decadent treat every once in a while never hurt anyone.)

It was madagascar cinnamon! (that was extra)

Well...when I go back to college I promise to get good grades. :teeth: That will have to do for now.

I have never tried Madagascar cinamon. Is that flown in special delivery?

I don't know about giving in to the request for caffeine. I mean, what is this world coming too? Next thing you know she is going to be wanting plastic surgery. :sad2:

I think you need a parenting class so you can be more firm with her.

:rotfl:

For crying out loud, how big is that coffee??? Or did you order one shot of everything?

LOL! Sounds like my kids - if all of us go to Starbucks it's about a $30 event!

My kids usually just ask for hot cocoa or a frappicino, but my daughter loves the Pumpkin Spice Latte - I get her the decaf. :goodvibes
