Star Wars Weekends

Can anyone explain to me what goes on at MGM during Star Wars weekends? Also, does anyone know the dates for 2006?

I can't find that dates right now, but its usually at the end of may early june.
Star wars weekend has some shows, when we went they had little kids learning how to use the lightsaber it was very funny. And they have some of the characters from all the movies. Plus when we went carrie fisher and the man who played chewie were there for autographs and pictures. Its pretty much everything Star wars, so if you like the movie then you would have a great time.

we did star wars weekend in 5/2004 & 5/2006.

it was very cool, of course, my dh loved it. they have the characters all dressed up and walking around. they have a special edition of who wants to be a millionaire, with questions from star wars. they had some of the actors (different ones on different days and at different shows through out the day) doing a q&a session. they showed a star wars interview video with some behind the scenes footage. they had "jedi-training" sessions, this was for little kids, although my dh was dying to do it too. they gave the kids jedi robes, and one of those plastic light sabers, and they taught them a couple of moves. then, to spice things up for them, darth vader & friends come out to "fight" with them.

they had people dressed in character just parading around the park:

they had this at the entrace to the park where you could take pictures with "darth tater", but he wasn't there when we got there:

i have many pictures, but the characters that they had out were according to the film that was coming out at the time, like episode 2 in 2004. so, i am not sure if they are going to have another one next year??

who knows? maybe they will. they are supposed to release a box set with all 6 episodes together some time next year. maybe they'll do another weekend then.

DH and I will be at Disney May 12-19 hopefully we will hit Star Wars Weekend!

You just made my day! I thought SWW were only in May and that this year was an exception because of Episode 3. We're going to be at Disney June 7-16. So, I sure hope we get to do to SWW!!!
