Star Wars Weekends Christmas Gift

I'm planning on getting a vacation together for my husband as a Christmas gift. We are both Disney crazy and he LOVES Star Wars. Is it worth it to plan a vacation around the event or will it be too crowded/busy to enjoy anything? Just looking for thoughts since I'm in the process of planning.

SWW are VERY busy. But, if he is a huge SW fan, he will love it. We've been several times and even though we're not huge fans (at least I'm not, ) we've had fun. It's fun to see the Disney characters in their SW constumes (Jedi Mickey, Princess Leia Minnie, Darth Maul Donald, etc). My husband likes to get the special merchandise (like trading pins) that are only available during SWW. You'll need to get there well before park opening but I think you could do some of the SWW events, and the big attractions, too (Rock-N-Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania), but might miss the minor things like the shows.

Other than the Studios on the weekend, the other parks probably won't be too crowded, so if you go for several days, you should be able to see a lot and have fun!

we went a few years back and LOVED it. My biggest tip? Book the Dolphin Resort. For SWW , location is your best friend Also, get up early so you are outside the gates before they open. The Storm-Troopers will most likely put on a bit of a show, hint: look up above the turn-style roofs. Head to the back of the park as soon as you get in (at rope drop) by TSM...some great photo ops there in the past.
