Forward planning i know, but does anybody know if the the Star Wars weekend is now a regular annual event in May? We are planning next years trip and we want to go in May only if the Star Wars weekend is on.

As far as I can tell yeah it is. There is some cool info on the front page of DIS about this year's event. You'll also find some cool stuff over on www.allearsnet.com (just do a search on Star Wars weekend). Am going to be there for the last weekend this year and am looking forward to it!

It's a blast whether you like Star Wars or not. I've seen the films, but not a massive fan. Two years ago, we stumbled upon the event whilst we were in MGM. Every hours or so they do Jedi training. I grabbed DS (6 at the time) got to the front of the audience and had Him on my shoulders. He was the last to be picked and loved it. The sweet coming off His face by the end was well funny :rotfl2: . He managed to confuse Darth Vader though when He fought Him :smooth:

Thanks for that it looks fab. Is it usually the same time every year? Does anybody know when they release the dates for it?

I can't be sure for definite I'm afraid - hope someone else can help! Your best bet at the mo would be to look back on previous years and compare and try and play safe!!

Hi,
We last went to Orlando 2 years ago and always go at the same time of year - whit week and the week after and the Star Wars weekends were on then - I can't remember for 2001 and 2002. We've not been there for the Star Wars weekends before as we weren't big fans of the films, but they have grown on us as we own a movie memorabilia stall and sell loads of Star Wars items, so its a vested interest, so to speak! We've planned it in our itinerary this year and will be in MGM on Sunday 5th June. I've got 3 kids and they're all girls, so not sure if they'll participate in anything - we'll see. Looking forward to it anyway as I've met some of the stars of the films - Dave Prowse (Vader), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) and Kenny Baker (R2-D2)!
