Star Wars Weekend Tips 2012

One week from today we will be at SWW! I can not wait.
Thank you all for the updates you have given us that are going the last weekend. It has really helped.

Sounds like we should take a cab from AKV next Friday and not depend on the buses, especially if the park is opening before 7:30? Agree? I don't want autographs but do want to be there when the gates open.

We will be there 6/9. What do you need wristbands for?

Celebrity autographs. You get them outside the park in a designated line.

Thanks karpkg for the update! Trying to decide if we should do Vader first thing or wait and be in line during the parade

Last Sunday the line was still about an hour long for Vader during the parade, but it was shorter than other times we had passed by there.

I am currently thinking that we will ride TSM a couple of times when park opens (& probably Star Tours and maybe Build A Droid before its insane) and then get in the Chewy Line and wait that one out (he's out around 9:30, right?). And save Vader for parade time on either Fri or Sat. Last year we were saw the tent characters during parade time so I am hoping there is someone besides Vader meeting during the parade :wizard:

MissDaisyofTexas,

Read your blog and loved it. I had a quick question. I saw that you wrote that CMs will have preprinted autographs on photos of the celebs if you go there when the celebs are not signing. Are the autographs actually signed by the celebs beforehand or are they printed by a computer? Thanks!

The black and white pictures already signed are copies, not original autographs

They hand out wristbands before they give out fastpasses so people can't get more than one autograph per day...don't take the wristband off because they check it when you go to your autograph session.

Does anyone know what time the busses have been leaving from Pop? We don't have to be there early enough for autograph lines, just JTA. Do you think the bus will be ok or should we take a cab? We will be there on the 10th!

I would plan on a cab, not sure at what time busses start running, but DHS has opened earlier every weekend, today has been the earliest and you need to be there for park opening to sign up for JTA

Can someone tell me how early my DH and DS need to get to DHS to get Jake Lloyd's autograph? We're staying at CBR and they were planning on getting up at 5, showering, then driving over. I think they could get ready and get there by 5:30. Will that be early enough?

As early as possible, getting there around 5:30am sounds Ok, maybe Karpkg will have more info on Jake Lloyd

If the park opens before 8 does that mean the rides are open early too? I've never been on TSM and want to get there early.

Usually the rides are open when the park has opened early, some weekends RnRC has opened at 8am but TSM and Star Tours have been ready to go when they open the turnstiles.

I'll be going on June 9th. What is the suggested time to line up for a shadey spot for the parade?

Also any ideas for keeping a 2 yo entertained in long lines? I think food, water sprayer fan thingy, netflix on phone. Anything else?

So does Vader pics start at 9? If you ride TSM go straight to Vader next or try one more ride?

Can you remind where these are? And where I might find them for prior weekend celebs, such as Ray Park? Guest Relations? It's better than nothin', right? ;)

Thanks as always!

Shady spots go very quickly, line up an hour and a half before the parade...Does your 2 year old like to color? maybe coloring book and crayons? Sticker books? Darth Vader is coming out before 9am, sometimes even around 8am, If you're there at rope drop ride TSM and then get in line for Vader

The CMs that are around the tents on Echo Lake will have them, if you don't see any CMs there then go to the info desk and ask for them, they have them stored under their desk...I'll ask tomorrow if the have some from prior weekends and report back

I didn't see anyone but Vader meeting during the parade. Any cm with the characters would have the listings of each character and their times, so that you can find out exactly who is out and when.

TSM ran out of fast passes pretty early, before parade time on Sunday. So definately get that in early.

Build a droid was out of pieces yesterday, no Mickey Ear hats.

The "info desk" is where--near the Echo Lake tents?

And if I haven't said this before: you rock.

;)

The Info desk is near the entrance to Sounds Dangerous...and is it sad that when I read "you rock" the first thing to come to my mind was Disney Channel Rocks show signing the song from Camp Rock :rolleyes1

Thanks again. And yes, it's sad. :goodvibes

EARLY. The shady spots go first. I'd say at least an hour and a half ahead.

Feeling sorry for all the families that got to DHS early today to sign kids up for JTA, it's been raining non stop since around 10:30am and it doesn't look like it's going to stop...wondering if they are doing anything special for the kids?

Yes, the rides are opened too. The park was opening at 7:30AM and we were able to ride TSM 6 times in a row with hardly no wait (also did a few Star Tours and ToT)!!!!!!:cool1:

Last Friday, May 25, Rockin & Tower weren't open when we were let it at 7:30ish. CM said would open at 8:00, but both didn't open until 8:10, so don't assume all will be open when you go in.

Remember that in the afternoon Chewie meets WITH an ewok so its twice the fun! The line closes for a bit and reopens at around 3pm. We waited about 25 minutes at 2:30pm and it was well worth it.

Since Vader is there at opening, I would catch him at 7:30am (we waited 5 minutes) and then proceed to Toy Story Mania MULTIPLE times!!!!

Good plan! :thumbsup2 We have a Sci Fi ADR at 1:30, so we could head right to Chewy's line afterwards...

Thanks!
