Star Wars Weekend Tips 2012

We're going to be at SWW one week from tomorrow and my DS and DH are wanting to get Jake Lloyd's autograph. Does anyone know what the lines might be like for his autograph?

At Darth's Mall all the AP stuff is at the register when you check out. There is a special AP pin that features R2-D2 and C3-P0, a shirt that has darth maul on the front, a framed coin and a regular coin.

Is the framed coin the one that has Mickey and Donald on one side and Maul on the other? How much is that and the regular coin (is it the same one not framed?) if you don't mind me asking?

Bonnie - I agree, it wasn't until today that I realized how little places with a/c there are at DHS. We went to see the Muppet show before we left, and we considered watching it again because it felt so nice. However, we did yard work yesterday evening, and it was so hot it made me feel sick. I'm so sick of this heat!

yulilin3- I did not get to the the celebrity fastpasses last year, how did you get 2? I want Nika & Ashley for the last weekend. I wonder if 4am would be early enough, can you explain how it works so I don't have to read through a crazy amount of pages?? Thanks!

You line up to the right of the turnstiles, there's a line for each celeb. Around 6:30am they start puting wristband and then around 7:15am they give fp's. one fp per person for 1 autograph. So you have to line up for the celeb you want to get a wristband and fp for 1 autograph. You cannot get more than one. If you have family with you you could get on one line and then your family can get in another. I thin 4am is way early...I think you should be fine arriving by 6am. Let me know if this is clear enough.

Mini report from today, sorry if I don't make sense or have grammar errors, I'm super tired.
Arrived around 6:45am. Got fp's for Tom and Ashley and stanby #4 for James. Ended up not being able to meet James as the standby line got cut out by standby #3...we'll get him next week.
The park opened at 7:30am, rode TSM no wait, then just hung around waiting for Behind The Force at 11am. The show is fun and my DD11 got chosen to deliver lines on stage with Tom, Ashley and James, she got a signed coin from 2007.
Went for lunch after the show and then got back in line for Stars of the Saga, you could probably line up about 30min before this show and get seats. Great show and awesomely funny pre-show.
Got out and made the line to meet Ahsoka...those lines are brutal in the sun but my DD11 had bought Ashley Eckstein's Ahsoka long sleeved hoodie andw anted a pic with the character. She also got a pic with Ventress.
Met Tom Kane and he was more talkative than last year, he remember my DD11 from the show and said she had done a great job. Then met Ashley, she's a sweetheart.
Then we grabbed some dinner and got spots in front of the American Idol jumbotron for Hoopla, you could come right as the show started and gottten great seats, almost everyone was aseated on the floor so that was great.

As promised I walked the character lines around 6:15pm, here are my observations:
The Bobbas and Darth Maul about a 10 min. wait,
Saw all the roaming characters (Stormtrooper, Aurra Sing, Zam Wessel, Tuscan Raiders and Gamorrean Guard) they come out in the afternoon not in the morning maybe that's why some people didn't see them
Darth Vader's line at 6:15pm was about 45min long. The CM there said that even though they say that Vader is coming out at 9am he's really coming out around 8:15am so take advantage of that. His line is consistently long thru the entire day.
Jedi Council was meeting together (Anakin, Kitt Fisto and Shaak Tii) maybe a 5min, wait.
Clone Wars (ahsoka) was out at 6:25pm maybe a 10 min, wait
Saw Jawas trading around this area
Chewbacca's line around 6:30 was about an hour and closed at that point.
Amidala was about 5min.
Stormtrooper Donald was out around 6:30pm, the CM were closing the line because it was a 30min, wait at that point. CMs here said that the line had been consistent all day long around 30 to 45min. R2MK will not show during this years SWW .

Thanks so much for the info Yulilin3! I am making DGrD(8) a set of autograph cards with the SW characters on them, so meeting characters is her #1 priority. So glad to know we can leave the park for the pool and return late afternoon to continue hunting autographs. I took DNeph 4 years in a row about 4/5 years ago and the all shows were our fav! - well that and hyperspace.

I just spent a day at Epcot with 5,000 additional Girl Scouts, a mix of Girl Scouts and families. People trying to escape Hollywood Studios and went to Epcot got a huge surprise instead. And tomorrow will "only" be 3,000 Scouts, so maybe it'll be easier.

We're jumping into DHS tomorrow unexpectedly; DD wants Ashley to sign her Her Universe shirt she got on Friday so I'm thinking of sneaking in another celebrity autograph. Plus other stuff but we still want to go to MK as well so we'll see.

The 1st 2 years of SWW was intense character autographs so this year that wasn't a priority. What threw us off this year is making an apt. for the Carbon Freeze me that was nonrefundable so it required me going back to JTA and seeing if they still had afternoon spots for me to change the time slot(they did), Sci Fi to work us in when an ADR also coincided with Ray Park, and changing PMC because of Ray over to the 6:10 slot. We were hoping the kids would get to be in the Trip to the Maul again but when the CM asked DS, he said he'd already been in it.

Ahhh, Rayyy!!!! The CM was blocking my line of sight to take pics of DS and DH and the other CM was telling me to "back away from the line" even after I kept saying "that's my family I'm trying to get a shot of my family" when Ray who was talking to DH yells out I remember you guys! You're the t shirt family! (we always wear matching custom star wars t shirts with our names on them past 2 years) and he motioned me over and said "get over here" how could I say no? so they had to take pics with DD and me as well.

Our day:
Arrived 5:35. Talked w/CM. She said if you are wrist banded you are guaranteed a fast pass or stand by. You will be told a stand by if it came to that. The line was past the bag check off to the white sign on the telephone pole but DH made it to the 2nd session. 2nd session was held at Darth Mall Tent.

Walked in 7:25 or so, got JTA 9 time slot. Rode TSM, then realized it coincided w/Carbon Freeze me, told black shirt CM Marc and he personally traded out a time slot and received 4:10.

Rode Star Tours at 8AM, watched people making droids, tried for Chewbacca line at 8:40 for 9AM, found out at 9:20 he won't come out till 9:30 so got out and went to Carbon Freeze Me 9:40. Finished at 10A. Went to Andy Secombe at 10:35A.

On the way to Darth Mall did Darth Vader magic shot. Afterwards RNRC fast pass at 1PM, then Ray's time slot was 2:10, stress time changing Sci Fi ADR(CM took pity on us) and sat down at lunch 3:10, food came in at 3:30 ate in 15 min. then left DH to pay the bill and ran the kids to JTA at 3:45 for 4:15 time slot. Got Commander Cody and Asoka's autograph at the same time, a roaming Gamorrean Guard, Clone Trooper and Stormtrooper. PMC at 6:10, then left afterwards too hot and tired to attempt Hoopla.

Someone asked about 3rd weekend celebrities. Anakin Skywalker (Jake Lloyd) is probably going to be the big one since he was the main character for Episode 1 even though he's been here before. 2nd would probably be Silas Carson(Kit Mundi, Nute Gunray) followed by Catherine Tabor, Clone War voice aka Padme.

I tried to meet Hollywoodhaha and she must have been on break. So I asked for a description and was told at the time "blonde with a ponytail". So, blonde hair at least.

Sit in the audience; wait was roughly half an hour. Process took 10 min.

The machines were back to back and the one on the left wasn't working so they were backed up.

You'll find the Darth Vader magic shot location right across the fast pass machines for RnRC at the entrance to the Darth Mall on the right. The photopass photographer needs a background that doesn't have people so he'll keep an area of the back wall cleared away.

It seems like so much of this was all based on the cartoon. My DS has never seen it though I know he's love it since he is such a SW fanatic. I looked on the web site but it says September. Do cartoons have seasons?? lol

I checked the TV Guide and Netflix too and nothing. Itunes wants $50 per season which I think is nuts. It must be one heck of a cartoon. Is this on at any other times or any suggestions?

We have decided to take a very last minute trip, checking in on the 8th of June. I am a super planner and feel completely out of my element. Having never done SWW, I am completely lost. My boys, DH, DS..12, DS..11, DS..9, are so excited!

I was wondering if anyone can give me the link to the map of the park. I have so much research to do!!
