Star Wars Weekend Tips 2012

Merchandise tent is AMAZING. Luke, leia and droids come outat 9:30am and rotate. They still have almost all le merch. Took video at the tent

Took resort bus, arrived 7:20
In line center for preshow, about 1/2 way back to tickets
Right to JTA, line was back to entrance at indy, took 20 min, got a 10:15
Rode star tours several times <10 min
Traders had a little of duck limited pin, sold out there in an hour, did the build a droid

Training double standard group, lots of "entitled" parents in waiting room at idol, cms walked kids down, nice show
InLine for parade by 11:30
About the same parade from past Picts I've seen, mobbed!
Went for rockin FP while waiting parade, got a 2:00-3:00, looked at line for tent was at least 1.5 hours.
Did carbon freeze, setup as a prisoner freeze concept, how long what'd they do. No one offered the "Picts" of the scans made to us, the 3d render they showed for completness was wicked cool!

Went to the maul 4ish, walked in, looked like plenty of merchandise left, didn't notice anything in display case that wasn't still at tables, got the piece of the deth star pin, Picts with leia, couple other things. Nice artwork display, looked like they had a vinyls artist signing (not into those)

Picts with some minors, in line at 5:30 for ray at 6, qued up behind muppets, sat lower section.
Went to stage right after, about 15' back already just b4 7:00.
Most stuck it out through the rain, show started a little late
Fun day!

Is JTA sign up near Indy, not at Sounds Dangerous? Are there signs to lead the way? Do you know what show kids get to be in the parade? Is it still Vader and Ventress that kids battle at JTA?

Yes, there are signs to lead the way. I'm not sure how they picked kids for the parade. Yes, it is still Vader and Ventress.

Yes, but I don't know how. We watched and it was an awesome show! At the end the kids on stage got to keep their light sabers!

Thanks. In order to get picked, you have to tell the info desk CM or just CMs around ST how much of a Darth Maul fan you are.

My husband surprised me with an extra day at Disney so it looks like we will be at DHS Sunday may 27th as well. DS has a Darth Maul doll still in the box and I am debating whether I may try and get a fp for Ray Park. Would he sign the box? And if his fps were gone at 545 this am what time should I try and get there? We have breakfast reservations at 810 that morning at park fare would I even have time to get the fp and make it to breakfast?

JTA sign ups at Indy, cms will direct you (take first left after entering park)

Check in was at sounds dangerous.

Our group - littlest kids on stage, battled vader, others below and we got darth maul!

2 photo pass photographers, one for each group, gave out cards before show started.

Are these in children and adult sizes, or just adults?

Both adult and children. $24.95 for adult, even in XXL and $19.99 for children.

Can you only get these shirt at darth mall?

I found them all over the park. In fact, the pictures I took of the shirts were on the way out of the park in the line of stores to the right before you get to the park exit.

Arrived 7:45, walked right in to park being open.. Storm troopers on roof.
Kids didn't realize what was going on until we saw the storm troopers.
Toy story, got FP for 9:00 hour and rode with no wait.
Star tours, rode twice..no wait
Did Animstion attraction and one mans dream (never done them)
Ride toy story
Got FP for RR
Lined up for parade
Parade finished exactly at 1
Played/cooled off at Honey I Shrunk
Prime time for lunchG
Got FP for Star Tours
Backlot Tour
4:30 lights cam action
Roaming storm troopers pic
Rode star tours
Rode RR
Darth Maul, saw Luke
Tower of Terror
Left at 7:30..pouring rain

Not alot of star wars stuff for us...we did pick up several pre-autographed pictures at the places that celebrities did their signings...Kids liked that. What few sigs we got were on our light sabers...thanks to this thread for that idea.

Kind of bummed that we aren't getting to SWW today. DS with special needs is wiped out from just the 2 hours at the park yesterday. Tomorrow night we're going for the Hoopla and hopefully checking out Darth Mall before that.

Did they show the Hoopla on the screen at Idol again?

I am cancelling my ADR for Sci Fi at 12:15 for 4 people for tomorrow since we've decided only to go out at night to make it easier on ds.

I think we're planning on being there next weekend, but I am super worried that Ray Park fastpasses were gone by 5:45am today. EEK! We're thinking about going early in the morning Friday, and then if need be, we can try again the following Saturday. To be completely honest, I'm not a fan but my boyfriend and daughter are, so I'm along for the ride.

No toys for jta and no toys for pmc...r2mk is not coming out . Ray park fp was all out by 5:45 so get here around 5:15. Andy secombe will be here again next weekend. Line right now for one of the fab 4 is 45min. The shady side of hollywood blvd is all full for parade.

Have a great time!! I wonder why they're doing Clone Wars for both shows of PMC . . . hmmmmmm. I noticed on the Weekend 2 schedule on Disney's website that it said the same thing. If that's still the case by Weekend 4, it makes the decision A LOT easier about not signing up the kids.

I agree. My DS8 was super excited about it, but only because one of the sessions was NOT clone wars. Maybe it will change?

WOW! Is that normal? We are going to SWW #4 and I had decided to skip the celeb autographs because I didn't want to drag everyone there super early but if they still have FPs at park opening......AWESOME! Bonus for our trip!

Thanks for the report re PMC being Clone Wars for both shows -- was hoping that the schedule was not correct, but helps the planning given the various conflicts.

Love the summaries people are providing of their days -- really helpful to get the different perspectives so we can understand what's reasonable to accomplish.
