Star Wars weekend merchandise list..

I hope they handle it different than last year. I got to Tantooine Traders about 5 minutes after it opened and stood in line trying to get into the store for 4 hours before giving up. A CM came out and said all the Darth Mickeys were gone for the day. They made a few available each day, but they didn't have many. I saw so many disappointed little kids (not to mention adults). Finally, they put up signs saying they would make the Darth Mickeys available for order online with a limit of two per email id. We ordered and waited several months to get them.

I hope they realize how popular they are and that they should be available to more than just those folks who managed to get them and put them on Ebay at high prices. The first day they made the Darth Mickeys available at SW weekend, I saw about 20 available on Ebay under the same seller. They were already listed by the time I got home from MGM that afternoon. It makes one wonder how this seller managed to get them.

I was there that first weekend too....nightmare! I'm hoping that I'll be able to get the Darth Goofy through the Disney Event site, like you mentioned. It was such a hot weekend too, the lines were pretty lively for the characters too in that area. DS5 was not amused! Did they ever mass produce the Darth Mickey, like they did the Jedi Mickey?

No, they've never come out with more of the Darth Mickey other than those you could buy for a short time online.

This is too silly....

I hope they have the foresight this year to order much more than they did last year. Although this year has Darth Goofy so we'll see how popular those are.

Anybody else not like the poster art for this year?

I like the poster with all the characters but I'm not crazy about the logo for this year. Maybe it's just me...

Had fun last night with my DD9 doing all famous Vader lines in Goofy voice

"You are a member of the Rebel Alliance and a traitor. Take her away!

"You have failed me for the last time, Admiral"

You have to hear it

Any way to buy this stuff without actually being at the parks? My DS is soooo into Star Wars but our trip isn't planned until September. I know he would love the Darth Vader Goofy or at least a T-shirt. I love all the Star Wars characters with the Disney characters. Will that be a T-shirt?

There is no guarantee but the official Star Wars merchandise shop did have some of the disney t-shirts from last year. So they might have some more this year, it was towards the end though, so I don't know if was overstock stuff they were selling off. You can find them at
http://shop.starwars.com

There is a couple of logo things from last year still there, or there was a couple of days a go.

I'm also wondering if anyone knows if any merchandise is available before, or not until the weekend. We are going to be in Disney May 2-6. Our trip was a last minute decision because my husband is being deployed to Iraq the first of June and we wanted to give our boys a great vacation before daddy is gone. I had already booked really cheap non-refundable airline tickets for that week before I even knew about Star Wars Weekends and now I'm kicking myself, but $400 in ticket change fees isn't possible. The boys are only 6 so they won't know the difference and they are excited about going on Star Tours and it's cool the Jedi Academy will be open then, so at least my one son will be able to meet his hero Darth Vader. I saw the the Jedi Mickey pin will be available on May 2, is there anything else we can pick up that first week?

regards

The Star Wars Weekend merchandise is only put out during Star Wars Weekends. There is always a lot of Star Wars merchandise available at Tantooine Traders, but it will not be the special Star Wars Weekend stuff. In order to help with the huge crowds trying to get into the shop last year, they ended up selling some of the merchandise at other locations in MGM.

They had a couple of different special t-shirts last year for the event.

Some of the other locations to purchase SWW merchandise aside from Tatooine Traders (gift shop at the end of Star Tours) are the gift shops near Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and Golden Age Souvenirs (outdoor gift shop near exit to Sounds Dangerous).

OK, is it just me or in the Yoda vs Vader main logo, does it look like the Mickey hand by the hat is flipping the bird??

that's what I figured about the weekend stuff, but thought maybe there were some more Star Wars themed things coming out, like the new pins. My kids will be happy to buy anything Star Wars while we're there. Also just found out a friend of mine is going to WDW May 19 and didn't even know about the weekend either. Now that he does he'll be there and promised to pick my boys up a couple t-shirts and a darth goofy. Jealous of everyone going...have fun. Hope they continue doing these so we can plan better next year.

regards

Is Tattoine Traders open (with the weekend merchandise) until park closing? I know there are only so many items available each day, but what items are still available at park closing? Also, which day is more crowded for the store (Fri-Sun) or is there really any difference? Is the best plan to make a dash for the store when it opens?

The shop should be open until the park closing and assuming they don't sell out, all the items will available all day long. I think Friday is usually best as locals usually have to work so it may be a little bit easier. It's hard to generalize. If merchandise is your #1 priority, then do that first. Figure out what things you want to do and do them right at park opening (i.e. getting fastpass for celebrity autographs, buy merchandise, sign up for trivia, etc).
