Thanks for posting this! I just found out today my DH screwed up and we can't go the first weekend in June as we were planning, and part of the reason we wanted that weekend was SWW. We're looking at going Memorial Day weekend instead, so I'm glad to see SWW will be going then .

That's a shame. The last few times its been every weekend in June and I assumed that would be the case this year. We won't get there until the 21st this year. My son has already been able to do the Jedi Training Academy twice so hopefully he won't be too disappointed.

You can still do the Jedi Training Academy. It runs year round.

Our upcoming stay (June 24th-on) was booked specifically for SW Weekend - all DS wanted for his 12th b-day was to see SW Weekend. I had a bad feeling about the dates being changed to earlier but scheduled it anyway & wanted to try to get to it before he outgrows the awe.

Had to break it to him a couple days back that we simply can't make (he's still in school earlier.) A heartbreaker yes, but, the upside is we'll still be in Disney and we'll still use it as his time, although his b-day is earlier in the month too so he won't get the "what will you celebrate" part either. Hmmm... Jedi training camp is a must to at least see.

Doe anyone know if Jedi Mickey makes regular appearances for pics year round?

You can still do the Jedi Training Academy. It runs year round.

Yeah, we found that out this past October. It was when he got to do it for the 2nd time. We had to wait 4 different times during the last SWW before he got picked but he made it the first time in October since there were fewer kids waiting.

We will still miss all the characters, parade, etc though

OP - we have the same dates as you!

My DS8 is a huge Star Wars fan and would love SWW but schools here don't get out until late June so I'm not sure we are ever going to be able to do it. I haven't even told DS that there is such a thing as SWW. There's no reason to get him excited about something he can't go too.

We had the same exact problem we booked jun25th for 2 weeks and I actually had to tell him a couple days ago! I hated that but we don't get out of school til the 16th of June. I wonder why they decided to change it now....I thought is was always all June weekends.

Sounds like there's a group of us who will be there at the same time ~just~ missing the special Weekends. Well... there's only so much planning we can do around school schedules and without Disney releasing dates until a few months in advance. We gave it a shot.

Maybe we need to create our own Star Wars Weekends support group. LOL. Let our kids get together, build light sabers and terrorize the Star Tours gift shop. HeHeh
