Star Wars VR-Validated parking?

does anyone know if you can validate your parking if you do the Star Wars VR Experience? And if so, is it for 3 or 5 hrs? We’re going Saturday and it’d be more convenient for DTD parking than Mickey and Friends since we aren’t going into the parks and should only stay a few hours (but I don’t want to constantly be checking the time to keep within the 3 hrs with a purchase)!

My GUESS is you would be validated for 2 hours since the experience is 30 mins and qualifies for the $20 purchase. I would contact DTD parking to find out exactly though.

They did change the rate structure for DTD to be 3 hrs for stores/counter service and 5 hrs for restaurants/movie theater.

Anyways, we ended up getting chocolate covered strawberries and got it validated for 3 hrs which was enough for us!

So the experience wasn't covered under the 3 hours? (It is $29.95, I'd think it would.)

I honestly forgot to ask! Because I realized we’d probably end up getting it validated elsewhere and if not I could do the MoviePass trick to get 5 hrs.

So, it’ll only work as long as the AMC remains. I use my MoviePass account to buy a ticket; it doesn’t cost me anything extra as I already have an account (the service lets you get 1 movie ticket per day for $10/month; no 3D or imax). When I get the ticket I also get my parking validated, though I don’t actually go to the movie. I usually only do that if I’m spending more time at Downtown Disney. But at Christmas, when I was just doing a few hours, if Mickey and Friends was closed I parked at DTD rather than go all the way to Toy Story.

When I went right before the christmas blackout, I was only going for about 5 hours so I did the DTD parking. I ate at rainforest cafe. My son and I split a quesadilla and my bill was only $10. When I asked about validation it occurred to me that maybe I was supposed to spend $20. I asked the server and she said it was fine and validated my parking. Not sure if that was unusual or not but it was pretty awesome. I also spent about $60 in the World of Disney that day buying Christmas gifts but that only would have gotten me three hours.

They did get some bad press this week because suddenly 15ish AMCs stopped being served by MoviePass, including the one at Disney Springs, but it seems most others are still part of it.

Hmm, it still shows up as available in my app. But I haven’t tried going to the theatre to purchase a ticket.

I’ll have to try it this weekend (but when I’ll actually be going to the parks and parking in Mickey and Friends).

I know there is currently drama between AMC and MoviePass, because MoviePass wants a discount on tickets and a cut of concessions due to the increased foot traffic they send in (they got most smaller movie chains to agree to this), and AMC says no, so MoviePass pulled out of the top 10 AMC theatres. But DTD isn’t on that list.

Irrespective of whether or not it can be enforced, this practice is technically against the MoviePass terms of service.
