I keep hearing so much about Disney+'s new Star Wars series Tales Of The Arcolyte debuting June 4th and judging how much hype this new series is getting "and the series hasn't even debuted yet on Disney+" I think Tales Of The Arcolyte will be the talk of the town of Star Wars shows for this year and in my eyes it will draw the same ratings as The Mandalorian did or Andor and Aksoka

I think the same thing because if Tales Of The Arcolyte does very well it just might be renewed for more seasons. Because as we saw with The Mandalorian becoming a hit upon it's debut Tales Of The Arcolyte might have the same fanbase as Andor and Ahsoka does. Because I think what Disney+ is trying to do with Star Wars is copy the Star Trek series of shows and movies and make the Star Wars shows successful

It is just called "The Acolyte" but, yeah, it is exciting because it is set in an era we have yet to see on-screen. I am definitely interested to watch it.

I think when The Acolyte debuts it's first two episodes on June 4 Disney+ will SCORE mega subscribers and it will be the most watched Star Wars series next to The Mandalorian. But just as I mentioned in my earlier post in this thread I think Disney+ is turning the Star Wars franchise into like Gene Roddenberry did with the Star Trek franchise and once The Acolyte becomes a smash hit I think we will see a whole new line of Star Wars shows in the near future ahead. But I think the actress who will steal the spotlight is Carrie-Anne Moss because they are sure promoting her a lot in interviews

This show is sure becoming a fast hit because I saw a lot of Tales Of The Arcolyte interviews with the stars on Youtube so I guess they're really having high hopes for this show. Next thing you'll hear they'll renew The Arcolyte for a second season when Season 1 is barely begun. I think this show will be number 2 in ratings because it shares ratings with Paramount+'s Mayor Of Kingstown Season 3 premiere which also debuted the same week as The Arcolyte. But I think this show will score awards and get rave reviews when the ratings for this week's shows come out

I enjoyed the first two episodes. Ratings can be fickle but a good start, have you watched yet?

The diehard SW fans might disagree with you. Son and I are liking it, but it is getting absolutely destroyed on social media… and currently has an audience score of 31% on Rotten Tomatoes

I think you misunderstand what fans. sadly there are a group of folks who are upset not about the story, but about the diversity of the cast. They already bombed the audience score before it was even released and RT turned it off. At least among the folks on the General Star Wars thread it has been mostly well received so far.

Glad you are enjoying it so far.

Yea, we think it’s excellent… however, the people that I’ve seen posting about it … (mainly on twitter/X ) are more upset with the storyline than the diversity of the cast. Can’t please everyone, I guess,

There's definitely ratings-bombing going on for some ridiculous reason. The show has a huge number of "1" ratings on IMDb. Those are clearly people who have some sort of agenda and aren't the least interested in giving an honest rating.

BTW, maybe the OP can fix the typo in the thread title...

Just finished first 2 episodes.
I liked it quite a lot.
Certainly not deserving of all the 1/10 ratings you see on IMDb.
I'm glad Disney is providing all of this content on Disney+ in the Star Wars universe, most of it quite good.

I thought it was just okay. It is not nearly as good as Mando. I actually started to fall asleep watching the first episode. The 2nd episode was a little better, but the plot seems a bit thin. The first episode didn't have a great hook, IMO.

I'll probably keep watching, but I'm a bit disappointed so far. The almost-was-a- Jedi trope is getting a bit tired, IMO.

Curious, because I haven't kept up with everything lately - where else did this trope happen? I'm assuming Ahsoka, since I didn't watch that show. But I'm curious where else because it seems very new to me, especially in an era where the Jedi Order still exists.

Yes, 2 characters in Ahsoka. But also Anakin's fall from being a Jedi before that.

I don't follow all the SW content, but it would be nice to see the Jedi actually depicted as heroes.

This has been a prominent fixture of SW movies and TV shows, both live action and animated. Persons that have left the jedi order (whether padawan or master).

Anakin Skywalker in Episodes 1-6, the Clone Wars, Kenobi, etc.

Count Dooku in Episodes 2 and 3.

Syfo-Dias (spelling?) is prominently mentioned in Episode 2.

The lost 20 jedi masters are represented in the library scene with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Master Nu in Episode 2.

There is the Grand Inquisitor in Rebels series and (I think?) the Ahsoka series. I cannot recall all the sisters and brothers.

Barriss Offee in the Clone Wars series.

Quinlon Voss who was in the Clone Wars series and specifically mentioned in the Kenobi series.

Asajj Ventress who was in the Clone Wars Series and tested Omega in the Bad Batch series.

Reva in the Kenobi series.

Ben Solo in Episodes 7-9.

Sabine Wren the Rebels series and Ahsoka series.

Ezra Bridger in the Rebels series and Ahsoka series.

I don't even pretend to know all the books to speak intelligently on all of those characters, like Revan or Eeth Koth (who appeared in the movies on the Jedi Council?).

Oh, and I guess Luke Skywalker, in Episodes 7-9.

Ahh, I guess I don't interpret people falling to the dark side or becoming Inquisitors as "leaving the Jedi Order", especially post Order 66. It's rare we see a character like Osha who was in the Jedi Order but left on her own volition and didn't fall to the dark side and is now living a normal life.
