we will be going in Feb. husband is a big Star Wars fan. Looking for a Christmas gift to get him in some sort of special event for our trip. Is there anything that will be up and going by then appropriate for an adult? I was think of the dessert party, but he has stomach issues and probably couldn't enjoy the desserts that late in the day.

I surprised my DH with the StarWars breakfast at SciFi. Think it has changed now, but he really enjoyed it! (As did I)

There are no longer any Star Wars character dining events other than the dessert party.

You can make up your own coupons for him:
- Vader, BB8, or Chewie cupcake
- BB8 sipper
- Chewbacca Stein
- Vader t-shirt, etc. that he can use once he gets to DHS.

They have announced there would be some star wars fireworks during the construction phase but they haven't announced when they will start. I suspect in the next couple weeks, we'll start to hear the post Osborne light special options as well as a more firm list of what will start to be closing for construction.

Fireworks begin nightly on December 18th. DHS' scheduling has been adjusted for the fireworks.

The Fireworks dessert party begins nightly on January 5th because the Osborne Lights dessert party ends on January 3rd.

Other than the dessert party, they haven't announced any other special events as of yet. If you have a Disney Visa, you do get a special "Imperial Meet and Greet" in the new Star Wars Launch Bay area.

If you don't have the visa is there a meet and greet?
Yes. There is a regular meet and greet for all guests to meet Vader.

Chase Visa holders have a dedicated room and meet and greet with Vader during designated hours: 11-4.

There is a bunch of perks all over WDW if you have the visa card. Even if you don't want another credit card it's almost worth getting just for some of the extras.

Re the dessert party - would you guys drink the cocktails? I am also not huge on too many sweets. But, for Star Wars Weekends we did the dessert party and LOVED IT. I took a plastic baggie that I keep in my purse in case it rains (to protect my phone) and just took a couple things for breakfast the next morning. I do not think the CM's would have any problem with you making a plate and taking it with you instead of eating it there, in fact I asked before I did. I also really liked being able to try all the different drink options and have a cup of coffee (the drinks are expensive usually so that helps even out the cost). When the fireworks were over, they gave us a glass to take with us to Fantasmic as well. And of course, the reserved non-crowded area and not having to wait in huge lines for drinks was a plus. It is fun to feel VIP for an hour and a half, especially when everything at the party is SW themed and you are a fan.

Might still do it, but stomach/throat issues mean very little alcohol as well. Just not sure I can justify the price for us.

I've got a question, are you staying at an on-site hotel? I had to try something sneaky for the last b-day visit with the boyfriend due to his severe diet needs and his 'adultiness'. I ended up getting some things from the disney floral folks and had it delivered to the room while we were out at the parks (which btw, you're not limited to whats on the site, they can get you anything from the Disney store website with enough time). We had an in-room celebration, which I honestly broke the bank on and probably wouldn't shell the money out again for the whole thing, but it really made his trip and he wore some of the dorkier stuff they gave him the next day too. It was originally marketed as a 'kids' celebration and I had called and requested it to be "adulted up" (and added the last 2 blu rays for his POTC collection) and they ended up giving us a scavenger hunt and some scented soaps lol.

I wonder if you could email or speak to someone about dietary issues here? I know if you have an allergy they will give you a box that has some different things in it. I wonder if they would be willing to tweak it for him to make it worth it? Especially if you told them he is a big SW fan and it is a present. Some things are out of their hands, but they really do try to make things special with these events in my experience. It may be worth it to email/call and take a shot! Then you could both enjoy the "VIP"
