We are going during the first SW weekend. I have read you need to get a fast pass for autographs. Is this for characters like Darth Vader and Chewie or the celebrity that is there for that weekend. Any tips on seeing the characters like the Ewoks, Darth Vader, Chewie, R2D2? This will be our first SW weekend with DS(6) and he really wants to see the characters that are not usually there on our trips. Also, does anyone know if Darth Vader is available for autographs any time when it is not Star Wars weekend in the park?

It's for the celebs who will be there. The way they set it up last year, they had Jedi Mickey in one area (in the Sounds Dangerous building) for photos, etc. Then Darth Vader in a building somewhere along Hollywood Blvd for the same thing (we never saw him though). Other characters were out & about throughout the day as well.

I've never seen Vader out for autographs except for SW Weekends though. He's in the parade, from what I recall, but never milling around.

The star wars characters are crawling everywhere near Star Tours/Tatooine Traders (rebels), Mickey Avenue (empire area), some jedi were also by a shop for Meet & greet near the lake before Drew Carey's sound dangerous.

Darth Vader and Jedi Mickey, last year, had special areas for Meet & greet. We saw Darth Vader 1st thing one morning cause the line gets very long for him.

A great way to see a ton of characters is during hyperspace hoopla.

I took DNeph (8) last year and we had sooo much fun, we're going back this year - we'll be there the last weekend - let us know how things are when you get back!!
There's a ton of great info on QuickGold's site: http://sww.mgmstudios.org/main/ - lots of reviews and pictures, schedules, etc.
We spent most of all 3 days at SWW (Fri, Sat and Sun) and we did everything! Got pics with all of the characters - as Brianne said, Jedi Mickey and Darth Vader were set up in their own buildings (Darth is back on Mickey Ave where Sorcerer Mickey usually is). There were lots of pic spot with characters set up back by the entrance to SciFi and next to Star Tours. Over on Mickey Ave they had a lot more spots with BobaFett, Jango, Darth Maul, etc. We spent a lot of time getting pics and autographs (we did not bother with autographs for the celebs - he only wanted to meet the costumed characters!) - but that was what a 7 year old boy wants to do !! The WWTBAM Star Wars shows were really cute - they are only the first 2 shows of the day - be sure and look into the Jedi Training Academy and Padawan Trivia contest - battling Darth Maul was the highlight of the trip !! Be sure and arrive to the park early as the Storm Troopers do a little show from atop the entrance plaza while you're in line - the parade was awesome and everyone was in it - can you tell how much fun we had??! ;) :thumbsup2 - can't wait to go again!

we'll be there for star tours this may also! i'm very excited my DF and I are HUGE star wars fans! is it true celebs are spotted?
