I've seen other courses run through the Angels stadium and by the Honda center (I'm a big hockey fan!)

Same here, I was hoping it went by the Honda Center or atleast the practice rink like the Tinker Bell course.

I'm debating going to the game that Friday night, but still deciding since the 10k is the next morning.

I'm happy by what looks like a lot of park time, but I too was hoping to run through Angels stadium!

I'm happy that the park time is more than Avengers! I've done Tink and Avengers but I still can't really tell from the map where we'll be exactly. Running through the Angels stadium during Avengers was definitely a highlight for me. I'd love to do it again but I didn't think Star Wars would do it being as Disneyland Half and Avengers both do. Gotta keep it different somehow I guess.

I know a lot of people disliked the Avengers course, but I liked it. I did wish there was more park time. But once we were out of the parks we at least had landmarks to shoot for (Crystal Cathedral, river trail, Angels stadium) and that made the time pass faster for me. I kinda dont think thats the case with this course. But thats ok. I"ll enjoy the park time and then just get down to business and finish!

This will be our 1st visit after a lifetime of yearly visits to WDW. I'm feeling a little out of place and have no idea where's a good place to eat for a pre-run (half) carb dinner on Saturday.:confused3 Any suggestions (and I really don't like pizza but love risotto).

Hope everyone is doing well and without injury,
Kristina

Not a huge selection of pasta but I'm planning on Boardwalk Pizza and pasta at DCA

In DL, there's the Plaza Inn, it's okay, a little cafeteria-ish. In DCA, there's Boardwalk mentioned above and Wine Country Trattoria which looks down Carsland. They have a good selection and I've ate there past 5 race weekends. In DTD is Naples, same as Epcot and Ralph Brennan's, I think they have a few pastas. On Harbor across from the entrance to the parks is Tony Rona's, but don't remember if they still have pasta options. Down on Katella is Marri's, an Italian restaurant and they'll deliver to hotel rooms. On Harbor on the other side of Katella is Buca di Beppo. Also across from the parks is Garden Walk which has shops and restaurants, mostly chains like Cheesecake and Bubba Gump.

We're doing Naples on Friday (Carb Load) and Steakhouse 55 (Protein/Carb) on Saturday.

My friend who is flying in from DC is super excited for the speaker series on Saturday. So we have to be done with the 10K and back at the Expo by 10a. She will definitely have to see Steve Lindsey speak.

I've only done the DL Half, but I didn't like having to run on that dirt track along the drainage canal right by Angels stadium! I'm also not the fastest and just remember how miserable it was running right into the sun. So I'm pretty excited about this course.

I just hope all of the car clubs are out. It makes the time pass so much more quickly.

We're doing the same thing! :thumbsup2 The only time I could get Naples at 60 days was 4:30pm, but eating earlier is probably a good thing anyway - now I don't have to worry about overdoing it. :lmao:

I'm excited to see Chris & Heidi Powell. :hyper: I love that show, plus the timing on Fri is perfect b/c dad & sister will be close and hopefully can check into the hotel right after that session.

I still need to figure out my plans for the first day of the Expo and checking into the DLH (and getting my aunt checked into PPH). Pretty sure my friend won't be arriving until later in the afternoon but I'm planning to be at the Expo before it opens so I can be sure to get her the SW Dooney if she decides she actually wants it. I like to take care of my shopping first thing.

Oh man, I've been so busy with work work I forgot about trying to set up a meet-up well in advance. Has anyone mentioned anything that I may have missed?

I was reading a report from the Avengers that most of the race merchandise was sold out within a few hours of the expo opening. We don't fly in until Thursday afternoon. Do you think most of the stuff will be gone by then? We are flying Southwest, so I can change my flights if I need to.

Stuff could be gone, but being the 1st SW weekend, it's hard to tell. They're slowly figuring out the merchandise craze and ordering more stuff. I would say if there is something that you see you want and can't live w/o (they'll post stuff soon, they did WDW today) then change your flights. I hope not everything's gone either, I don't get in until Thur afternoon too.

Because it is Star Wars, I would expect the merchandise to sell faster than Avengers. Hopefully they have enough on hand to satisfy most of the demand.

I wasn't terribly impressed with the Avengers merch.

Completely agree. The only thing I needed from Avengers was my pin which I had preordered. Wish I had preordered 2 cause my DD decided she wanted one too and they were already out of that pin by the time we got to the expo on Friday afternoon. There was nothing else I saw there that I had to have and most things were still available when we got there. I was sad they didn't have a wine glass for Avengers. Hoping they do one for Star Wars. I wont get to the expo until Friday morning so I'm sure some things will be sold out by then. But I preordered my pins again and thats my only must must have. If theres a wine glass I hope they still have one when I get there. But if they don't its not the end of the world for me. I'm hoping the tech shirt they give us is awesome so I wont "need" to buy a different one!

True. I would like to think they'll have more merch especially w/ the expo over 3 days instead of 2. I still wish they would have stuff for presale when they show some of the stuff, it'd be so much easier and less chaotic especially for DL races where the space is so much more compact. Completely agree w/ you on Avengers ~ i'm not a big comic person, but thought there'd be at least 1 shirt that I would've liked. Although after seeing the merch for WDW, as much as I like SW it probably be better walletwise if I didn't find anything at SW.

Kirstie ~ I don't get in until 3 on Thursday so expo around 4? But if you see something and it's still there when I get there I can pick something up for you if you want.

I'm crossing my fingers for good merch, but we don't get in until later Thursday morning, and hope to avoid the Expo when it's at it's maddest. I've already decided that if they run out of something cool before I get to it, then it just wasn't meant to be. More money to spend on drinks at Carthay.

Though, DF has a great jacket from her first Princess Half, and if they had a Star Wars jacket that was similar, I don't think I'd even look at the price tag.

Thanks Kim!!!!!! Seriously, if you get there and they have a wine glass can you grab one for me? I'm gonna go message you my cell number so you can text me if you find one!
