So far behind in my training, anyone want to put me in a jogging trailer and push me for 13.1 miles.

Haha that sounds like a great idea! I'm not where I need to be at training wise because I messed up my knee during ToT 10 miler but I'm back on track for the most part. Good luck on everyone's training we are almost at 2 months away!

Training didn't go too well for me last month because of multiple work deadlines, but I knew that was coming. All in all, I'm able to meet the distance for each weekend, so that's good. The next key is figuring out the back to backs. Two of them fall on the same day as work seminars so I'm trying to figure out how best to fit them in.

Oh Kim! I am so very sorry about your doggie! My Lily girl died the Wednesday before my very first Tink. I almost didn't make the trip. I completely know how you felt. Mentally, physically...I'm so sorry! Big big hugs to you! Thats so hard to deal with.

On a brighter note, so happy that you finished despite everything and that it was a good race experience as far as the crowds around you went. I hope your foot feels better for Avengers! Lol and yes great practice for January :)

Thanks! She was almost 14½ so I knew it was coming, just ignoring it and hoping for later rather than sooner. And I was home so I guess that's an upside.

That would be awesome!! I've always thought that at the end of the night in the parks how nice it would be if someone could push me around when I see strollers.

DL, Tink & Avengers all start in the same place at the underpass of DTD. DL & Avengers run towards Katella and Tink towards Ball. Similarly, DL and Avengers end in the DLH parking lot and Tink ends in PPH parking lot. So SW will most likely start in the same place and end either DL or PP parking lots. Also the last mile, I think, on all 3 are the same, it's the backside of DCA into PP parking lot; DL and Avengers continue on a service road to the finish. Around the parks they're similar too. Outside the parks, each is different. DL is industrial and the trail to Angels Stadium and back. Tink is residential and downtown Anaheim and back. Avengers, is the other side of the resorts and Tink, don't know if it's commercial or residential, then out to the trail to the stadium but from the other side side than DL.

In looking at the description they posted about the course under the 10k part (they mixed up the 10k & 1/2) it sounds like the course will be more similar to Tink. So if you look at the Tink map, that might give you a little better idea.

Does sound more similar to Tink, thank you for the run down. That's a tough one, I'm super happy to be doing my first 1/2 at Disneyland so any course is going to be great! From the tourist point of view I like the Tink better but from my sports fan side, running past Honda Center and through Angels stadium would be awesome. Atleast it's goes past Anaheim Ice so this course should be best of both worlds.

Totally agree w/ you ~ if they could somehow incorporate Angels Stadium into the Tink course, it would be the perfect DL course! Plus, there are more spectators for Tink than DL which is nice.

I heard from someone in one of my disney fb running groups this weekend that the courses are done and will be out soon! :yay: She said they were just finishing measuring everything for accuracy and it's been submitted for certification.

Some tips I learned from this weekend since both Marvel and SW have similar fan bases w/ SW being a little bigger. If you want official race merch, go there 1st before picking up your bib and as early race weekend as possible. I got to the expo on Fri about 11:30, it opened up a little earlier than the 10 time announced. When I got there, the merch line was about an hour wait. I heard from some friends that there wasn't much, if anything left, by the afternoon. So if you see it and are thinking about it, snatch it up as soon as you see it. Also, if you plan on doing character pics, try to space them out over the races if you're doing multiple races or make sure you run really fast as soon as you start and between each stop. :rotfl2: The lines were insane snd I've never seen them like that before. A few of my friends waited 15-20 mins for each one on the 5k. They had 4 Avengers out for the 5k, I think 2 in each park. But really long.

Also, you have to do a costume or SW themed running clothes. I mentioned this in the Avengers thread, but in all the Disney races I've done, I have never seen so many runners dressed or themed up. I honestly can't recall anyone who wasn't dressed/themed out or wearing the race shirt. The stores also put out Avengers stuff up front to buy in the parks and tones of people were wearing Marvel/Superhero shirts and stuff in the parks as well.

Great news about the courses! And great tips, the merch one is def helpful and I'm glad New Balance has the reservation system if I like the new designs

Started making our dining reservations today! Just celebratory Sunday night dinner at Napa Rose and our first night tradition, Carthay Circle.

For those who have run at DLR previously, where did you go to get your night-before carb load?

You were able to book for Sunday? Online reservations only go up till Saturday. I've booked everything so far up till Sunday, have 2 more reservations to book in the morning and we should be all set.

We're doing the Chefs Counter at Napa Rose, so I called them directly, rather than booking online. They had no problems making a Sunday res.

Ahhhh, makes sense now. With this being our first trip to DL it would be nice to try some of the nicer dining but with my DD I think I've picked 6 reservations over 4 days that will be great and even my DD will enjoy. Chefs Counter sounds awesome!! Enjoy!

In DL, at the end of Main Street is the Plaza Inn, they have some pastas and are so-so.

In DCA, Wine Country Trattoria is good; ate there last weekend. You can also get some pasta at Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta.

In DTD, there is Naples which is good as well.

For Wine Country and Naples, definitely make reservations beforehand; the lines and wait will be really long.

Outside of the parks, there's Tony Roma's on Harbor a short ways away from the parks. Also, there's a Buca de Beppo I think on Harbor. On Katella is a place called Marri's and they have pizza and pastas and they'll even deliver to your room.

I always used to eat at Marri's on Katella, but lately I've just been hitting up Cheesecake Factory so I can take home some cheesecake to indulge in after the running is done. I'm horrible, I know!

Haha sounds like an awesome idea to me. That's part of the fun is knowing you can indulge if you want afterwards.

Just finished booking all our reservations for the trip. Wanted to book ESPN Zone for celebration Sunday dinner but I'm guessing it's walk up only since in reservations it says "no times available" for every date. So I might cancel out House of Blues reservation if that's the case.
