Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Dining - Oga’s + All Quick Service Food and Drinks

You are taken to the spot where your party will fit.

If there is room at a booth, you can be seated there with 2 or more other parties.

If standing at the bar or a high table, you cannot move to any other area that may open while you are there. They are very strict about not moving because of the time limits for each party.

I guess this is to "time" people with the 45 min rule? I am hoping that with being the last of the day crowd, my ADR is after 9 that we will be allowed more room......??

Hmmmmm, is the whole place standing room only or are there tables also, when entering does one ask for a table or is whats avail next seems kind of a odd thing, in the heat of the day and going into a AC place one would expect tables and or chairs at the least after a hot day.....
We went to Oga's in Disneyland and it is pretty much what HiroMYHiro described.

When you check in the Castmember will explain the rules: 2 drinks, 45 minutes, mostly standing. Most everyone will be standing at high top bar tables or the bar, but there are some booths. The host/hostess will take you to a pre-assigned spot and you are not able to move to an empty spot because another party will be assigned there. If you are a smaller group you will be sharing a table or booth. When we arrived we were shown to a booth where there was already a party of 2 and a party of 4 seated. When they left they were replaced with 3 parties of 2 each. Our server wanted both drinks ordered at the same time although she brought one first and the second drink later. Payment was at the time the first drink was brought to the table.

Same thing here thus why I booked Oga's @ 9PM, park closes at 10, 45min allowed, nice nightcap...

I think it will be a full house while you are there. There will be reservations until 10 PM so many will be "seated" after you.

That sounds so... clinical. :(

It's fun and absolutely worth visiting, but right now it's not a "sit back, relax, take your time" experience. It's the most popular place in SW:GE so the 2 drinks and 45 min limits definitely keep one mindful of the fact that you aren't being encouraged to linger because there is a line of people outside waiting to get in. For us, we had enough time to enjoy our drinks, listen to DJ Rex, and take in the atmosphere.

I think the WDW people who havent been following all the threads and posts about Ogas Cantina from Disneyland are over thinking things.

Its a standing room BAR, there are no food other than bar snacks, it is small and is extremely popular, its not exactly kid friendly.

Its an amazing experience but you just have to go with the flow. Its not like any other place in Disney so have an open mind. Im solo and I would never just go to a bar on my own, HOWEVER I really enjoyed Ogas Cantina and I did not feel uncomfortable standing at the bar with my 2 drinks.

To maximize you experience at Oga's I would recommend looking at the menu before hand and knowing what you want to order. The atmosphere inside is fun and loud and you might be overwhelmed. So pick your drinks beforehand, once led inside just order and enjoy.
They are very strict on placing like @hiroMYhero said. We were in a high table that fit 8. When we got there the CM told us where to stand, the table was full, then the party next to us left so we scooted to the side to have a better view of Rex, the CM came in with 2 new people and kindly asked us to scoot back where we were "seated" .
I mentioned this earlier in the thread but you are able to ask for a cup to take your drinks outside. So for whatever reason you want to leave early but haven't finished your drink you can do that.
We hung out at our spot for about 30 minutes (I got the Cliff Dweller, cheapest thing on the menu :D ) and we paid and then walked around Oga's and got closer to DJ Rex and watched him for a while

How high are the tables? Are they OK for kids to stand at?

So would you not recommend doing this with kids? TBH I mostly made the reservation at Oga's with the hopes of getting in the land just to look around for a little bit; my sister and my son are the only big SW fans in the group. But the drinks sounded cool, my son wants to try the blue milk and I thought it would be fun even if we just stayed for 20 minutes. But I also don't want people to be looking at me like Why did you bring your kids in to a bar?

They are high, not kid level there's a side table that is shorter but I only saw once area that fits about 8. Also at the bar there's a wheelchair accessible area

I would honestly recommend watching videos of oga's. People won't give you a second glance with a child, it's not rowdy, it's a fun, loud, atmosphere

Thanks, hopefully will get an OK spot with the kids if not will knock drinks back and go 😂😂

Its a Star Wars themed bar, if it was exactly the same in every way but located in your local town, would you bring kids?? Ogas Cantina is not a kid friendly place. Its adults standing at tables drinking alcohol. DJ REX is cool but he is an animatronic DJ, located on a side wall where servers walk up and down carrying trays of drinks. You cant have a group of kids stand in front of him or sit on the ground watching him, as they would be in the way of the servers.

My advice is to go to YouTube and watch some videos and then you can make a decision.

Im a small person around 5 feet depending on the shoes I wear. The standing table was ok for me, a bit high but I managed for the short time I was there. My second visit I was at the bar and it was a much better height for me.

I won't bring my kids again, and they are teens. It just isn't a place many kids would find interesting or tolerable, to be honest. My kids had a hard time with the atmosphere, but they are also autistic and one has pretty bad anxiety that gets triggered by crowded spaces, and there is very little "breathing room", plus it is very loud, which my youngest had a hard time with. They basically plugged in headphones and zoned in on You Tube videos on their phones. They were not interested in any of the drinks. Almost all the non alcoholic ones are Powerade based drinks, and they don't drink that stuff. The blue milk served in the bar is not frozen like the one sold at the milk stand, so it has kind of a weird texture and my son didn't want it. The cookie it comes with looked good, though...

It's a bar. At the end of the day. It's your call whether you are okay with bringing your kids.

As an adult who is really excited to peek into Ogas, I would not be upset or surprised to see children at my table. They might get bored but no, people wont give you looks or anything. We Star Wars people get it!

Just to clarify when I say its not kid friendly, I mean that the tables are too high for kids, there no kids entertainment, theres no kids area, its loud and a small crowded place with no windows with lots of adults standing around.

If I saw kids in there I wouldn't be annoyed more like look on them with pity cos they would be bored and cranky and probably sitting on the floor under the tables while the adults drink.

Not really sure this space was built for kids. It's basically a bar. Not sure what you mean by the entertainment though. DJ Rex I would think would be pretty cool for kids or anyone really.

@rteetz DJ rex is cool but the way he located, its not really kid friendly. For example, family friendly bars would have a kids play area or a stage area where the kids could sit and watch a show or singers or dancers, like The Golden Horseshoe but with alcohol. Honestly I think thats what many people were expecting, The Golden Horseshoe type lounge bar themed as Star Wars.

I am not so sure about that expectation. I think many were expecting Mos Eisley. That certainly wouldn't be kid friendly either. I don't have kids yet but I don't have a problem with the execution of this space. Its not something I would seek out to take kids to in the first place.

Thank you for posting your experiences with kids at Oga's! Some of our family who is going down in October have been trying to get ADR's for 5, 2 adults and their 3 kids, and not having luck. I'm going to explain to her how it is in DL and she can probably leave the kids with her mom (who is also going with them) so she and her dh can go to Oga's. I know her kids and they probably wouldn't like it at all with the way it's described. They would care less about other patrons giving them the side-eye for bringing kids in, but they would be concerned about how bored (read: whining to leave!) they would be!
Hopefully it will be easier to get an ADR for two.
