Looking for some non-spoiler advice -- can you get most of the interactivity experiences in GE without buying a droid or saber? For those that have bought one, was the experience substantially better than not having one?

Also, are there any cell phone recharging stations in GE?

You can always use the Play App, the datapad has a huge number of games, jobs, tools, that can keep you busy for hours and still not able to finish it. I bought a droid and loved carrying him around in the backpack while he made all the sounds through out the land but I still visit without him and have as much fun
There are no recharging stations at GE, not even a fuelrod kiosk, but there is a kiosk at PizzeRizzo

So this seems like a HUGE problem......I mean , phone heavy park, boarding passes, interactive phone games....not fuel rods or charging stations??? Even the cape had fuel rods...

There are fuel rod kiosks in the park just not inside the land

layering is the easiest way to go. Earth tones, beige, olive green, blues will do the trick. If you have cool looking boots and belts it helps, if you have long hair you can go for cool buns and styles.. We go to thrift shops and Goodwill and usually find a whole outfit

Are there a lot of worthwhile Disney Play opportunities in SWGE? Neither of my little boys, 8 & 10 have cell phones, but we do have an extra phone we could bring along for them to use.

You will probably want to have a cell phone with you in SWGE. Aside from translating Aurabesh, there are a lot of little interactions(like scanning cargo containers) with the background that both adults and kids would probably enjoy. At least, that is what I have been able to make out of the videos I have studied. I have yet to see first hand, so perhaps someone else can supplement what little I do know.

There are a lot of games on the Play Disney app Your phone inside the land is called a datapad and you can chose to just randomly walk around and do things (hack, scan, translate) via the map that it shows (remember to turn on your gps and bluetooth) or you can actually go on "jobs" and complete tasks. I'm a local so I have planned days to just go for the datapad and I have spent about 3 hours walking around the land completing jobs and gaining strength for the Resistance.
I recommend watching some youtube videos to get familiar with the process before you go

I’m also a local and have probably spent 5-6 hours total on the app. I still haven’t collected all the items, though I’ve scanned nearly all crates outside the rides and completed nearly all the missions. It is a lot of fun but if I was a tourist with limited time I probably wouldn’t do much on the app unless my only priority was SW and everything else was secondary. I’d rather do more rides and see shows than stare at a screen. The most interesting thing I think is translating the signs and intercepting transmissions. Some are quite funny.

Finally got my "Black Spire Explorer" under Play Special Achievements on 10/11/19. The achievement blurb indicates that this is intended to be awarded on 1st visit to Galaxy's Edge: "Your first visit is now behind you ... but many more lie ahead!"

Curiously, I earned this AGAIN on Saturday, 1/18. It popped up soon after exiting RotR at DLR after my second ride.

Edited to add, of the Datapad badges: I'm up to 31 of 44 earned. I haven't touched the First Order activities ... except for one accidental job that gave me the TurnCoat badge.

I won’t do first order or smuggler jobs, except for the SR smuggler job. I want my resistance affiliation to fill up. Once I’m bored of everything else I’ll do it. I wish they actually used the affiliation/SR data for interaction like they advertised.

Honestly, I'm a little uncomfortable that they offer them at all?

Yeah, I was hoping for that. Got to see some fun interactions, but never had stormtroopers stop me, even when I said they were the "worst order" or called Kylo "Crylo Ren." I wanted to pick a fight! (not really)!

I'm eagerly looking forward to this, too. I figure, perhaps, the launch of this level of interaction is waiting until there are more guests playing the games? Perhaps too few of us have actually taken the time to build our DataPad reputations?
