Resort Thread STAR WARS: GALACTIC STARCRUISER Official Information & Questions Thread

Maybe they did get removed. I was wondering how Blog Mickey was sharing anything. All of the bloggers I was following said they are not allowed to post anything until Friday.

I can’t see the videos for some reason. The link just takes me to the page where the top news story is costumes?
Ok, I can see that video but I can’t seem to get to the room tour or Gaya performing.
I’m having the same issue. I’m wondering if they were removed from the blog site?

Found this on Twitter:
"UPDATE:
@news6wkmg reached out to us regarding the videos showing the interior of Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. It has become clear that the videos they posted were posted by accident and we respected their request to remove the articles."

Random thought and of course we'll all have different styles on this kind of thing, but I’ve pretty much transitioned to radio silence mode, personally. I know what I need to know at this point, it seems, so I'm good with less inputs and keeping my mind somewhat clean. Not so much Starcruiser related but I recently did a bit house cleaning on some of my Disney Twitter follows, blog sources, etc for various reasons, which has frankly been kind of nice. So now I just sit here in my ignorant bliss and wait. :-) 🙈🙊🙉

Gaya was actually quite good. The room was concerning-ly claustrophobic. There was no person in it for scale, so I hope someone posts a pic or vid with people in the room for reference - and not just one person in the vid; I need to see a couple or family. I honestly don’t know if I could handle the room, even if it’s just for sleeping.

Not gonna lie. That gives me anxiety, like knot in my stomach anxiety. I can’t imagine there being more than one person in that room.
There was 3 adults for our text cruise and we felt it was enough space. There’s a closet in the room with shelves for storage but we didn’t need to use those since we just had carryons. The one thing I found claustrophobic was the bunk beds, especially the top bunk. I felt it stuffy and hot and ended up sleeping on the pull out bed the second night. That wasn’t the greatest either because it was kinda sunken into the wall so I had to be careful and not sit up too quickly or I’d hit half my head.

How was the lack of real windows? That’s what kept me from initially booking. I had passed the first screening and was on hold, and the more I thought about being in a building with no windows and then going to a room with no windows, the more trepidatious I got, and I hung up.

I can't speak for this one, but I've stayed in plenty of interior staterooms on cruises. Not a big deal, and it's really easy to sleep in due to no windows for light to come in.

I can’t do interior staterooms on cruises. No, no, no. I don’t even like to go in them. My brother always got a balcony room for him and his wife and inside staterooms for his HS (and then college-aged kids). I hated going in there to corral them for activities.

The videos of the room tour and Gaya performing were posted before the press embargo so got pulled.

I wonder if the the beds are high enough to store luggage under like the cruise ship cabins. We will be traveling with 4 people for an 11 day trip in total so I am really hoping the storage space was well thought out!!

We go the second week of march and still haven’t received the special magic bands…. Who can I call?

I'm fortunate to not regularly experience claustrophobic feelings, but I can definitely see how the GS set up could be a concern for those that do. I just don't know that you'll truly understand how you're going to feel until you're actually there.

The bed is raised so you could probably fit at least 2 piece of luggage. We only had carryons so we didn’t need to store them anywhere. I would think they would also be able to store luggage for you since they have to know most people aren’t traveling to Orlando JUST for 2-day Starcruiser

I don't know why they bothered making those blogs take the videos down. Hint hint, Disney, we Star Wars geeks tend to also be good at figuring out how to find cached webpages. Unfortunately the videos have confirmed my initial impressions that this looks like it was executed on a budget. So much could have been done even with simple lighting effects, especially the staterooms which just look flat. Gaya should be backed by a fully costumed alien band, with concert lighting on a small stage instead of just wandering around a poorly-lit restaurant. When I watch these videos, all I see is cost-cutting on materials and talent. Like, the glowing effect on the round tables in Mos Eisley would be so cheap to replicate, and they didn't even do that. ETA: They could have put her stage in front of a big "window" looking out at a planet like in the Fifth Element.

I genuinely don't know what I'm going to do. If it was just myself and DH, I would cancel. My kids don't know about the trip yet but being kids, I know they'll love it and be so excited no matter what. Glad I have some time still to decide.

I don't mind seeing some photos at this point but will not be watching any videos.
I was kinda hoping to see more photos and videos. Despite my love of all things Star Wars, I know this is something I will never, ever be able to afford to experience firsthand.
