Resort Thread STAR WARS: GALACTIC STARCRUISER Official Information & Questions Thread

Thank you for posting this!! Called today and was able to get an Oga’s reservation for my group (which I had been unable to secure via the WDW site when my booking window opened yesterday). The CM also mentioned that we definitely wanted to spend some time there during our time on Baatu, and alluded to the fact that there could be some story moments to be had there, so I’m wondering if there are certain time slots reserved for only GS guests? I encourage anyone wanting an Oga’s reservation to book via the Starcruiser line, as it may be a better/different experience than if you book on your own.

I had initially booked Ogas at 11am on my own. When I found you could book an official excursion at Oga's through the Starcruiser line, I called them and booked 11am through them and they cancelled the reservation I had booked myself. So it doesn't seem there are dedicated times for Starcruiser guests, but I'm thinking we will be designated for a different experience, which is why I made a point to change my booking to go through the Starcruiser.

I had a 4:10pm Oga's booked on my own. With the last bus returning at 4pm, I called the Star Cruiser line to see about changing it to earlier. All that was available was a 10am. I took it but that is very early for us.

I asked what would happen if we missed the 4pm bus back to the Star Cruiser and was told we would have to find a way back on our own. I joked with her that I would be very annoyed if I paid all that money and ended up stranded. She said she was sure I'd figure out something.

I also asked if there was any sort of transportation to the other parks (Just because I'm curious) and was told there was not. I don't know why but I thought this was odd. What if some of your group didn't care about Star Wars or after day 1 realized this wasn't for them and wanted to go to Epcot?

Anyways - thought I'd post my experience today. I called at 1:30pm and just got off the phone at 2:45pm.

I get what you're saying, and I'd love to see them expand the length of the cruise so you could stop at different "planets" but for now, it's billed as strictly Star Wars / Hollywood Studios. I would hope people aren't booking with the expectation of going to the park of their choice. That's a huge chunk of change to throw down if you're 50/50 on liking it.

I am sure you could always take an Uber.

I am not sure why anyone who wasn't interested in Star Wars and really wanted a regular WDW vacation with parks every day or parks other than the included DHS would book the Starcruiser, at least not if they knew what they were getting into for two days. They can probably always get a rideshare and go wherever they want, even though they spent 10x more than they would have to stay at a regular hotel

For my husband and I it's a no brainer - we know we will enjoy it. But 1 of our friends who considered going with us is a so-so Star Wars person and thought they could choose a different park on day 2 if they didn't care for day 1.

I explained that it was like a cruise with only one select excursion into Batuu which was before we all had much info and they thankfully decided not to do it.

I would have thought it odd if they did offer transportation to other parks directly from the Halcyon. If you really wanted to, I suppose you could exit DHS and use the regular bus/skyliner service to go to another park. But I would advise anyone who thinks they might want to do this, to think long and hard about whether this Starcruiser experience is really for them.

Thank you for sharing your experience, I did find it helpful. Just curious to know, what was it that took over an hour? Were you waiting on hold for a long time, or did you have a particularly chatty reservationist? ;-)

It was a bit of both. I had a 10 minute wait on hold, Reservationist put me on hold when I reached her while she looked for an Oga's Reservation that took another 10 minutes. Then I asked those couple of questions and she kept chatting away. She was just as excited for this as the people going.

might seem like a dumb question but i can't find an answer... do we call at 60 days to book extras like cantina... or do they call us?

No such thing as a dumb question as far as I’m concerned - this is new to all of us! You need to call, they don’t call you.

I called the Starcruiser line. There are not specific times for Halycon guests, but there are spots reserved for those guests. The same is true for Droid Depot and Light Saber building. When you book through the starcruiser line it shows up differently on your itinerary. It says ‘Batuu excursion- Ogas / Droid Depot depending on what you pick.

For those who don’t know, definitely call the starcruiser line (not the reservation line and not through the MDE app) to book your Oga’s/Droid Depot/Light Saber training. They have slots reserved for those that will be on the starcruiser. They will then be included in your itinerary in the Disney play app. They also show differently on your MDE reservations. It says ‘Batuu Excursion - Ogas’ or whatever reservation you make. This will insure that the timing matches other things in your itinerary. (Sorry I’ve tried including a screenshot but it appears I can’t easily do it from my phone).

FYI, I think it wouldn’t let you post a pic since that was only your 10th post. You need a certain number of posts before the software turns on certain features, and I think that’s one of them. There may also be a timing requirement after your 10th post too, like a day or so, although not positive on that one. The software has various things to stop spam bots that sometimes interfere with normal posting.

Forgive me if this has already been asked/mentioned (I've skimmed many of the pages in this thread, but not all of them): is it true that the Halcyon guests will be attending DHS to tour Batuu every-other-day? As in, day 1 is boarding day, day 2 is Batuu, day 3 is disembark/boarding next group, day 4 is Batuu, day 5 is disembark/boarding next group, and so forth? Once the pattern is determined, will it make sense for non-Halcyon guests to plan their DHS days for dates where the Halcyon guests won't be there? It looks like Halcyon guests will have preferred access to ROTR and MFSR, so I wonder how that will affect availability of these rides for non-Halycon guests? Also, general crowding concerns, availability of Oga's & Savi's reservations, etc.

Yes, I would assume there will be less publicly-available LLs for those rides on those days, at least during the morning hours. GE may be slightly more busy as well.

The max possible guest count for the Starcruiser is only 502 people, assuming every cabin is booked with the max # of guests (which is highly unlikely). That's a very tiny number relative to park attendance, ride capacity, or LL capacity on any given day. Plus add in guests who opt not to go to Batuu or only spend limited time there (we would fall in that category). To me it's not something I would even think twice about as a DHS guest.

Great information...my kids are big fans of Star Wars, this is definitely something we are looking into booking. BTW....thanks for the guest count information regarding Batuu...very helpful.

Thanks for posting these numbers, it's a good point that Halcyon guests are a relatively small amount and wouldn't impact numbers in Galaxy's Edge by much.
