Resort Thread STAR WARS: GALACTIC STARCRUISER Official Information & Questions Thread

It's just such a missed opportunity to not give the Halcyon guests an hour before park open to experience GE in a fully themed, immersive way instead of having to push their way through the fanny-pack crowds (not hating, I've got one myself). Obviously not every guest will want the full-on LARP experience, but getting to walk around a park that feels like you've landed in a Star Wars movie would really be a selling point. And the lightsaber training should have been a mix of VR and live sets like with the Void, I mean, Luke wears a helmet when he trains in New Hope it could have looked like that.

Considering the price that people are paying for the experience, it would be nice!

That's what I was really expecting was for them to enter before the crowds or enter after the park closed. Seems like a big missed opportunity.
They could have had so many incredible character interactions with the small group.

Yes, the very minimum - I thought that for the price, they'd have private experiences on each ride (GS guests only), with enhanced role playing by the cast members, so that those rides become part of the "storyline" for the GS guests.
When the project was announced, that was what I expected to hear them announce.
I think they are missing a huge opportunity to make the guest experience incredible by not having that.

They are missing an opportunity. But, Disney seems to be doing the same thing lately, which is cutting corners, doing less and still charging insane prices. Also, that would require Disney for keeping that section of the park open for an hour or so earlier (or later), that is a huge amount of money for Disney to keep people on staff for that (and the costs of keeping the park open). Disney can afford it, but they are doing as little as possible these days.

Hi all, we are planning our voyage for June 23!🥳 I have booked a pre cruise stay at the Doubletree Disney Springs and a post-cruise stay at the Riviera. I have several questions (sorry if answered elsewhere): First, will they offer luggage transfers to and from the Halcyon and other Disney resorts? We have never done a split stay so we are not too familiar with how that works. Second, how are others with pre and/or post-cruise stays planning on spending the embarkation/disembarkation days? Since we are staying at a Disney springs area hotel the night before, we were thinking of just going and doing some shopping at Disney springs until we head over to the GS. After we disembark, is the the park entrance for HS close enough to walk from the GS? We got the park hopper plus, so we are debating whether it makes sense to use that disembarkation day to go to HS, or instead using our “plus” to head over to one of the water parks that day. I’m interested in hearing what others might be planning to get some inspiration and get some of the logistics of these pre/post days thought through.

I spoke to someone at galactic starcruiser when I made my Oga’s reservation. He confirmed bell services will move luggage between resort hotels. They will definitely move it to the Riviera. Not sure about the Doubletree, I would call Doubletree direct and ask them.

We are staying one night at BC the day before our “cruise” and at Poly CL for quite a few days after. My plan is to spend the day before at Stormalong Bay and then grab a late breakfast at Trattoria al Forno before embarkation. On disembarkation day the plan is to do another pool day at the Poly with a Jiko dinner that night. Then it is off to the parks for the rest of the trip, taking advantage of the Deluxe after hours as much as possible!

Disney will transfer luggage between Disney resorts but not ‘good neighbor’ resorts like the Doubletree. So, you’ll need to bring your luggage to the Starcruiser yourself. As PP noted, they will transfer your luggage to Riv. Note, generally when Disney transfers luggage the rule of thumb is that it won’t be available until 4pm or later at its destination. You see reports of earlier and some later… but the common advice is make sure not to transfer something you will absolutely need (eg, medications, toiletries, swimming clothes, etc) during the day since you can’t control the arrival time and it is likely to be later in the day.

While it’s walkable, there are no guest walking paths from the Starcruiser to the DHS entrance so I’d be surprised if they’ll let guests just walk out of the Starcruiser grounds. Guess we’ll have to see but I suspect they won't allow that.

Getting to a park using Disney transportation is going to be tricky. Since there are no buses to the parks from Disney Springs, you'd need to take the bus to Disney Springs then take a bus to a resort, then transportation to your desired park.

I haven't thought too much about our arrival day plans yet, but on departure day we're heading to our new resort (we're driving) and will make it a pool day. A water park day also sounds like a great idea in my opinion.

Hope that helps!

We're doing a 7 night Fantasy cruise before this and need to take a covid test before boarding. We dont do the same for this cruise tho, am I correct?

Correct, there is no Covid testing requirement. Unless that’s a detail that Disney plans to introduce at the last minute.
