Thoughts on it? Must dos?

Do you need special Meet and Greet tickets for the Star Wars characters? How soon did you get them after getting on board?

The general thought is it isn't worth it. We didn't hate it, but there could have been more done with it. There are a few threads talking about it already, you may find more info in them. For the Star Wars characters you get a form to rank your choices of 3 settings and you have to hand it in ASAP when you board. Choices are Dark Side which was Darth Vader OR Captain Phasma, Bespin which was Chewie or Boba Fett, and Tatooine which was R2D2 and c3po or Darth Maul. We got tickets to Bespin and the Dark Side. Captain Phasma was fun, apparently scripted but she commented on my daughter running around in circles. Hubby got to meet Boba and it was just pose and be done. There are also Jawas, sand people and Imperial Officers walking around during the day on decks 3,4 &5. Storm Troopers on deck 4 outside and on deck 11 at certain times, and Boba Fett would make an appearance looking down on the crowd.

There was more going on, but the Jedi training was a disappointment for many and has apparently been changed to include more kids. Just remember to wear close toe shoes for it or they have no chance of being chosen. Our guest speaker sucked but the last couple have been cool behind the scenes people.

I would highly recommend getting your preference card for the meet & greets in asap. You'll get them on the first day of the cruise. I would fill it out and immediately turn it in.

Some people talk about the worth of the cruise and that's all relative. We are huge Star Wars fans and attended multiple Star Wars weekends. We had a phenomenal cruise and loved Star Wars at Sea day. I would recommend just enjoy the day and go where your whims take you. Jedi Training Academy is fun to watch if you have no kids, even more fun if you have one participating. If you do have a child that wants to participate, make sure they are wearing closed toe shoes and you have them sitting on an aisle. The CMs doing the picking only walk up to those they can see the footwear of and have easy access to. We had to go to 2 sessions but it was worth it.

Do make sure you have things to trade with the jawas. On our cruise, they were interested in metal things like bobby pins. They'll trade for junk. We got postits and an eraser.
