Good morning,

I am sorry if this has been previously discussed, but it didn't appear in my search. When will they announce the cruises for SWDAS for 2020? Also, what is the likelyhood that a Feb Fantasy Eastern Caribbean Cruise will be designated for SWDAS? When you get SWDAS do you loose pirate night? TIA. :-)

You don't lose pirate night on SWDAS. I looked at 2019 sailings and it looks like SWADAS will be from January to before spring break. I think Disney does it to get folks to sail during the shoulder season. We are thinking of doing the Eastern Caribbean leaving February 8th.

As for when they will announce, it will probably be next year.

I’ll second that. We had already done a SWDAS in 2016 so it wasn’t our plan to do a second. We had booked a Feb 2017 cruise that coincided for DS’s and his grandfathers birthdays. A few months later we were notified that DCL had notified us that it was converted into a SWDAS Cruise. Based on what appears to be a successful draw and the movies still being released it seem almost certain the trend will continue.

I've heard that the prices for the cruises go up once it's announced as a Star Wars cruise, not sure if it's true or not since we booked concierge and our room price never changed since booked. There is a pretty good chance the first three months on Fantasy will be Star Wars before Spring Break cruises start.

I think that it's more the prices go up because people jump to book them. There are usually a few hours to a day or so between the announcement and the price increase. But past performance is not indicative of future performance. If you definitely want to cruise on a week that has been if it becomes one, I'd go ahead and book now. Unless you book concierge, it's refundable if you cancel up to a certain date - and you'll know before that if it is Star Wars or not.

But yeah...I jumped on the Magic cruise for President's Week 2020 for opening day prices. My guess is it will turn into Marvel and those prices jump also. I pondered the Fantasy, but I can deal with a sea day being taken over by Marvel a little better than having one ruined by Star Wars. (Very much NOT a fan here.)

We're still going back and forth on SWDAS vs Galaxy's Edge for 2020. It all depends on how insane the crowds will be and for how long.

I'd look at the rhythms of the year regarding long weekends and full school vacations.
