Star Wars breakfast menu at Sci Fi

Curious to know how the lighting will be in sci-fi diner for this event. Will I be able to get good pictures with the characters?

More will be known after tomorrow. George Lucas, Star Wars actors, and Disney Execs will experience the SW SciFi Breakfast tomorrow!

I'm excited about the menu! Sounds different and yummy to me. I'd rather not pay all that money for just some pancakes I could get at ihop. Lol. I know everyone has different tastes, though, and that not everyone likes eggs, so I do see why some people are disapponted. My 9 year old loves scrambled eggs....and french toast....so we're all set. Thanks for the information!

I agree! I'm not even planning a trip, but I love Star Wars, and hope this is around for a while!

As for choices; I think it sounds great....why so many posters are lamenting the lack of pancakes/waffles or "breakfast foods"...I don't get it. My 3 and 6 year old don't like pancakes, and definitely eat eggs :)

You don't get it because you and your family are willing to eat eggs. I don't eat eggs.

There are plenty of non-egg options though, although I do not mind that they are not "plain." But I'm sure there are a lot of folks who want what they are used to having for breakfast, and for some that would have been plain pancakes or waffles.

I'm in the same boat. DH will eat anything, but DS and I are much pickier and prefer simple choices. I'm surprised by the dis choices, the French toast is fine, but are there many 3-9 year olds who would eat the scrambled eggs? Maybe it's just the kids in my family, but I know they would all prefer a good old Mickey waffle.

I'm wondering if you can order the French toast on the adult menu plain, without the stuffing? Although I'm fairly certain DS and I will make do with the pastries, fruit and the kids French toast and DH can get two adult meals.

The kids I know would definitely choose eggs over the sweet stuff. My kids, in particular, will typically go for the savory breakfasts over sweet.

Thanks for the info. We will definitely ask for bacon. Hope we can get it without an extra charge. And I really don't mean to be disagreeable, but it's not just that the entrees "sound" fancy. Half of the entrees are scrambled eggs ( including the omelet). So if you don't eat eggs, you're down to 3 choices. I have never seen shrimp & grits on a menu around here, thinking that must be a regional thing. And I can't figure out what exactly the beef sides are from your description, but we'll be having beef for dinner @ Yachtsman's, so not getting that for breakfast too. We think of pancakes, waffles or French toast as " traditional" breakfast entrees. The only option for 1 of those is caramelized & stuffed, again, not our preference. A Mickey waffle with fruit on top would have been great- I'm sure it would have been easy to get without the topping. I'm sure we won't be able to get "unstuffed" French toast. I will be sure to give Disney feedback on the choices after our meal.

:thumbsup2. Agree!

See, pancakes, waffles, and French toast wouldn't be on my radar as "traditional" breakfasts. Around here, breakfast is hearty, protein rich foods (steak and eggs, any egg dish, fish, etc).

Grilled beef tenderloin as a breakfast item?

YUM! One of my most fave breakfasts is steak and eggs. Or fresh caught fish and eggs. Love!

I kind of wish we had a trip planned - my kids would pass out if they got to do this!! The menu looks amazing - I will take the salmon eggs, please!!

Enjoy, all!!!

And it's been reported on other forums that Darth Vader will be posing for photos in the check-in area - very well-lighted there.

I assume it will be in a controlled space & you will be escorted to him for your picture. If he's just in the lobby area, it will be a free for all & some parties might never get near him.

It will be the same as Chef Mickey and Akershus... when you are paged, you'll be led to the photo spot before being escorted to your table.

ETA: On the Star Wars thread, it's being reported that Boba Fett will also pose in front of a backdrop at the check-in area.

Mom2of2 thanks so much for posting this! You did an excellent job of relaying the information and answering so many questions. :thumbsup2 I just on a whim made reservations for this today for the day I wanted, 5/12. I was looking for some info about what to expect and now I feel even better. Luckily for us, there is something for all of us on the menu...and I think it sounds great! So excited.

Any new info about the breakfast from the meeting with George Lucas and the other high ups?

On the SWW thread: 2 Stormtroopers and 2 Jawas will be roaming through the tables with Greedo. Appears to be a typical character breakfast but quite dark. The Yoda melon was reported to look and taste good!

Yeah, thanks. I do not follow that thread since we are not going during SWW. We are May 8-10th weewkend.

The yoda melon sounds super cute:cool1:

plan on at least an hour to see every character..they are hoping to have 70 min table turns

It's Greedo and Bobba Fett, right? Plus the Stormtroopers and Jawas, but I want to make sure I can check off at least 3 long waits (pretty sure Greedo and Bobba Fett share a line, so easier if I can check them off without trying to time it out).

Darth Vader and Boba Fett will be in the foyer with photopass. Greedo, 2 Stormtroopers and 2 Jawas will be roaming the restaurant

Will the photopass from pictures work on normal photopass CD or only be free with memory maker like other character meals?

I love this thread.... That was going to be my question. These staged pictures at the entrance - is it like CRT where they are included (initial thought is no), if not, will they take the pictures with my camera? If no, then will I have to buy the pictures individually or will they only be available with MM or a photo CD purchase. If I can buy just those pictures taken at Sci Fi, how much do they typically cost? Actually, are there *any* pictures that you can't buy individually? I really don't want to kick myself for not getting MM

Sorry for all the questions, we leave next Friday and this is our first trip. I wasn't going to buy MM but if that is the only way to get these photo's, then I'll have to do it!
