SorryHowdy fellow cruisers!
I found out my younger son has a kindergarten graduation (my oldest didn't...but different school, long story). It's during the week of the cruise!
I've decided we can't miss it, so I'm going to look for a reschedule (again).
I wish everyone a fantabulous vacation. I will make it on a Disney cruise one day and I hope to cross paths with fabulous Disers when I do.
Our families first cruise ever! My husband & I (in our 30's) are excited to bring our 14 year old son (at cruise time) and our 4 year old daughter (at cruise time) on our first cruise ever in May 2014! Looks like I've chose the best ship The Dream to take our first cruise! I've read nearly everything I can, please let me know if there is more! My son knows about the trip, but we decided to save the surprise for our daughter! She believes she is a princess so I am mostly excited to get her a Cinderella gown so she can meet the other princesses and fit in! We are from Alaska so it will be a long trip, but we have done it a few times before, so we know the drill!
If there is anybody that will have a teenage son I would love to get their info for my son to talk too, especially if they've cruised before! He asking so many different questions, I can only look up so much!
I am worried that my daughter won't want to stay at the clubs, but she's only shy for the first 5 minutes!
I'd appreciate any info you can share! See you in a little over a year!
Oh welcome our 15 y/o daughter cruised Royal last year and loved it. Disney Dream for a teen will be a blast ! As far as your princess she will
Have fun :0)

Hi and WELCOME ABOARD
I so know what you mean this is my second cruise and due to an injury it slowed me down and i could not do as much as i wanted last time . It must be system overload for your son and you guys to want to know as much as possible , I try to read as much as possible by hearing from everyone hear and from the real die hard cruisers , but i also love reading pasporters guide to cruising by jen and dave marx there are many out there this is the one i like the most . and the most updated book is coming out this may with all updates. and as per your little one the oceaneers club is amazing when we cruised last our kids gave up having dessert for more time there . and other Disfriends kids that had teens said they loved the teen club area i wish i was able to go there too ! . But the whole ship is just like its name a Dream .
hope you have a nice week and cannot wait to say hi in a year .![]()
Thanks disney67! I will look into pass porters guide!
HiI agree with Disney67 on this one. I have the 10 th edition of their guide book, and its worth its weight in gold!
Disney 67,
What time are you all planning on arriving at port? We're planning on flying in the night before, but I wasn't sure what the best port arrival time would be. Also, we currently have first seating, but do you prefer second seating for any specific reason? I've been reading all sorts of opinions here on the boards, and I'm starting to think that second seating may work out better for us.
WELCOME ABOARD TO ALL THE OTHER NEWBIES. JUST OVER A YEAR NOW. WHOOP WHOOP!
Hi Heather and Family Welcome AboardHello I'm Heather and our family is going to join you for this magical trip.
I've been on one previous cruise (RCL), but this will be the first cruise for DH-Bruce and the kids, Nathan-7, Nolan-6, and Natalie-3 (almost 4 on the cruise July 1st BD).
I will be booking in the next couple of weeks. Just finalizing our plans. I'm thinking of doing concierge. Anyone go concierge before?
Also think the first seating for food will be best. We can eat and then drop the kids off for a fun adult night! I'm also hoping to get one of the spa villas for DH and I for our day at sea, and really want a cabana for CC as I have a silicone allergy that is hard to handle on a beach full of sand!
We are planning on staying 2 nights at the Poly before the cruise and then 5 nights at POR after the cruise. If we are going to fly clear across the county, I want to be sure to get our money's worth!!!
The last day of school here is May 22nd, and then we'll fly out the next day. NO secret here. Too hard for me to keep it to ourselves. DH and I have not been to WDW since 2005 for our wedding, so lots of updating and planning ahead for us.
I'd love to participate in any meets and be part of the FE group. The kids will get a kick out of that!
We just got back from a Disneyland family trip with my Mom. She won't be joining us, but here is a pic of us. I love having faces with names. Maybe other's would put up a photo? One from a previous cruise perhaps?
