Star View Station Questions

In didn’t notice FL limiting.. uh oh … lol

I’ve never noticed them limiting snacks, but I’ve never really been tempted to binge those snacks either.

When the Epcot lounge opened they had 'better' snacks. A package of gummi's that I and my kids liked. The snacks were also larger packages then we see now. Teddy Grahams, Oreos and others. The CM did rounds with a tray of snacks about every hour. I've never spent an hour there, maybe 20- 30 minutes, so lots of times, no snacks. My thing was to get a croissant bread pudding from Sunshine Seasons and go there to eat it with maybe tea or coffee usually after doing LWTL. In recent years once my gummies disappeared I've stuck to drinks.

My last visit in late October, just for some ice cold water, was demeaning. I was asked to sit in a chair in the sun and when I asked not to sit in the sun, I got some attitude. I was told only one snack. I didn't want any snacks, just a cup of water with ice and some time out of the sun. A second CM approached me after I said never mind to the seat. Since I was now just going to get my water and leave, I actually felt harassed by this extra unneeded attention. I felt they feared I'd complain somewhere. I probably should have. It was just annoying as when it started we were so warmly welcomed.

Just to put this in perspective, I was sweating and overly warm, which means I wasn't amenable to being 'explained' to. The lounge had roughly 3 spots occupied with maybe 10 people total.

Later that trip I visited the MK lounge to check it out. Same idea but no hot seats, lol. I told them I was just visiting and would like a drink but they assigned a table anyway so I sat my bag there - it was the 2 seater closest to the drink machine - while I snapped a couple of pictures and poured my cup of ice water. Everyone was friendly and maybe 2 more sets of people entered while I was there - at opening. I had ridden the Jungle Cruise first.

Oh no, I wouldnt be okay with being treated that way. Honestly for us the lounge is more about getting out the outdoors and sun not so much about the snacks and drinks. We cant eat most of the snacks due to dietary needs and I honestly dont need to drink all that high fructose corn syrup anyway. But being able to take a breathe of cold air and just sit is what is most important to us.

The only time I drink soda is at WDW and DLR. It's soooo good.

And they don't limit you to just one snack like Florida lounges do. I was amazed to find a basket of snacks set out that you could select what you wanted. I wasn't made to feel like a greedy so-and-so because I took two snacks instead of one.
Not sure when or where you saw this, but we have never seen them limit snacks. Went to MK lounge 2 times, Epcot lounge 2 times and Springs lounge 2 times last week and each time they had 3 baskets of snacks that were kept full to the brim. We had also been tot he Epcot lounge about a year ago twice and same experience. You can take as many as you would want and they had no issue when we asked if we could take a bag of chips out with us. If you have allergies you just ask at the desk and they give you a pile of allergy friendly treats. We love this benefit, I know its not much, but those freestyle machines and a nice place to sit is fabulous.

As far as Starview. If want only the outside area, they won’t assign you an indoor sitting spot. If assigned an indoor space, you can still spend any time your wish of your stay, outdoors. Own snacks & food have been welcome in the lounge.

That outdoor space is the “Tomorrowland Skyline Terrace” bookable online for evening fireworks. They use it for that, after the DVC lounge closes.
