Does anyone adore this show? I started watching it in November of last year after seeing Anson Mount in Marvel's Inhumans and after seeing Marvel's Inhumans I decided to look up other shows Anson Mount has starred in and I was looking at my Paramount+ queue and Star Trek Strange New Worlds popped up and I saw the first episode and was hooked and I just started Season 2 last week. I was amazed that Anson Mount plays Commander Pike in Star Trek Strange New Worlds so well and he really is amazing as Commander Pike and because of this Commander Pike is now my current crush at the moment. In fact I adore Star Trek Strange New Worlds so much I got a calendar of the show yesterday. Now if only Season 3 would hurry up and begin filming soon

Who is YOUR favorite character on Star Trek Strange New Worlds Beezle2? I bet you adore Commander Pike too

I do enjoy Commander Pike but ...Spock is all kinds of dreamy. As an aside I generally like the darker characters..give me Bucky Barnes, Loki..etc. And MY Captain forever is Malcolm Reynolds.

Back on track here..I am really loving Carol Kane as Pelia and omg did you LOVE the Lower Decks mashup they did? I LOVE Jack Quaid!

I have not been able to get into any of the new Star Trek stuff. I tried Discovery and just couldn't stand it. I've seen some Lower Decks, and while I love the concept, I don't really get the humor - like why is the one lady screaming all the time? It has a Rick & Morty vibe, which I do not like. I felt like I would love Picard, but Star Trek with F-Bombs? No thanks. It also suffered from the same thing that Discovery did, this bleak outlook as opposed to Star Trek's traditionally more hopeful tone. That said, I have heard that Strange New Worlds is good, but with that track record, I just haven't been motivated to find the time.

You may want to watch Season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery. Captain Pike assumes temporary command.

Also, there are 3 episodes of Star Trek: Short Treks in which Captain Pike appears, however briefly. My favorite Short Trek is "The Trouble with Edward" ("He was an idiot." LOL)

I like strange new worlds. It’s closer to the trek shows of the 90s. Voyager and ds9 were my favorites. I love lower decks. There’s a lot of references to the old trek shows on that one.

I wanted to love Picard also.

Pike is a Captain, not a Commander.
Oh so my crush is actually a Captain on Star Trek Strange New Worlds after all? That's so amazing because when I began watching the show Dad would always call him Commander Pike but I saw episode 2 of Season 2 this morning and it was awesome
Thanks so much for correcting me Douglas

Yeah, the Navy uses weird terms sometimes. A Captain may be called the commander of a vessel, and a Commander may be a captain of a vessel if they are the senior officer in charge.

I definitely like SNW better than Discovery. I didn’t watch the first two seasons of Picard but the last wasn’t bad.
We watched the first two seasons of Picard and felt ehh. Saw third season on Paramount and amazon had a cheap trial, but didn't want to know if we wanted to bother. But the last few episodes, we felt is was sooo next generation vibe. We thought it was great.

What I think Paramount+ is trying to do with their Star Trek series is they're trying to get some of the newer generation of Star Trek fans to show interest in Star Trek. And starting with Discovery and Picard they wanted to show the newer generation a whole new line of Star Trek with new characters and new storylines. And now in the Paramount+ line of Star Trek series Strange New Worlds is the #1 rated Star Trek series and just as Disney+ has the Star Wars series of shows Paramount+ is doing the same thing with Star Trek. Because when you have a successful franchise like Star Trek a lot of things can happen. Perhaps one day there might even be a Strange New Worlds movie released in theaters. I also think the main reason Strange New World is such a hit is because Anson Mount sees himself becoming the new William Shatner and Ethan Peck will be the new Leonard Nimoy and with a dynamic duo of these two actors Star Trek knows what they are doing

Picard Season 3 mostly dumps the storylines from season 1 and 2 and is WAAAAAY better. Having pretty much all of the original cast back helps as well.

Did you ever see the Star Trek Strange New Worlds episode where they all sing songs? I'm very eager to see that episode just to hear Captain Pike sing and that episode has a soundtrack released as well and is the best selling Star Trek soundtrack of all time now? What number episode is it in Season 2?

Yeah, I've heard that, but it's hard to build a castle on quicksand.
