Which Star Trek show do you enjoy most?

You left out The Animated Series, but I folded it into TOS.

Well, in my vote it goes:

Firefly
Babylon 5
Battlestar Galactica (new, not the original)
Stargate: Universe
Stargate: SG1

My kids are comic book geeks and like sci-fi, but they refused to let me get them into Star Trek because it was "too old." A friend of DD's recommended TOS to her, so she decided she would try it. I got the first 4 episodes from Netflix and we watched them last weekend. Now she's hooked. She's a big Uhura fan so far.

After TOS, my next favorite is DS9, which IMHO is very underrated. They really got their feet under them when they went with the Dominion War storyline.

BTW, they're releasing the Star Trek TV series on Netflix instant streaming next month.

But, even Next Generation, great as it was, comes in after Firefly (my all-time favorite sci-fi series), the new Battlestar Galactica and at about the same level as Fringe....

I have to admit, though, I'm really looking forward to Falling Skies, on TNT this summer ... looks like it's got real potential!

I actually loved both of them!

As far as the poll goes, I couldn't bring myself to vote. I was a major Star Trek fan and rolled my eyes when I found out that TNG was coming out. It didn't take long until I fell in love with TNG (and, yes, Picard was GREAT!) - although the first few episodes were a little rocky . After that, I couldn't wait for any version and enjoyed them all.

I, too, enjoyed them both, and might even admit to having downloaded the Lost in Space theme song (the latter years) to my cell phone. Loved Picard but no one. . .can. . .beat. . .CaptainJamesTKirk. . .no one. . .Bones. . .TNG was technically a better series, though one must take into consideration the difference in eras as compensation. TNG's middle seasons were exemplary, but by the time they went off the air, most of their episodes had been reduced to extended amounts of navel-gazing dialogue. As for the other incarnations, they never excited me much as once again, they relied far too heavily on sodden dialogue and lacked much humor which was a hallmark of the original series. Besides, I just couldn't enjoy a show where a Ferengi was a major character or where the captain sounded like a cabaret performer who had been hitting booze and cigarettes a little too hard for far too long.

The latest ST movie was thoroughly enjoyable, so I'm eagerly anticipating the next one. I am such a geek. . .

I like DS9 best, but Picard was my favorite captain. My second favorite series was Next Generation.

ETA - Though when it comes to scifi, my heart really belongs to Doctor Who. I also like Firefly and Babylon 5.

I loved TNG. My favorite was Worf. Wesley was the most annoying character for me. Anyone see the Big Bag with the actor playing Wesley guest starring? It was very funny.

I grew up watching the original as my parents were fans. We also watched Dr Who.

I watched DS9 and Voyager but it was not appointment tv for me. If it was on I would watch but if I had other plans I was ok.

I loved the reboot ST movie and can't wait for the next one.

I also loved Stargate SC-1 and Atlantis. I though Stargate Universerse was getting better but then it was cancelled.

Farscape was another favorite of mine.

I find it so odd now that the SyFy channel is showing wrestling while the BBC show TNG.

The first episode I saw of Enterprise was the one where they have damage and go to the unmanned station that can fix them in record time. Then one of the crew members is supposedly accidentally killed (but is actually abducted). They destroyed the station, but as the show goes off, you see it rebuilding itself. The last scene really got me!

Some of Enterprise I loved while some not so much (the Nazi episodes pushed it pretty far). Overall, I really liked it though.

B5 and Doctor Who fan here! I also enjoyed Battlestar Galactica but the original only. Couldn't stand the new one.


I voted for STTNG but Enterprise comes in a close second. DS9 was good and Voyager, well, not as good, but do-able.

However, I'm more of a B5 fan and have watched every ep. STTNG I haven't watched every episode but still like to watch it.

As a non Star Trek fan, I voted DS9. When I worked in TV we showed that every day at 4PM, so I grew to ALMOST like it.

I voted for DS:9 - I thought the exploration of other cultures, religions and philosophies was very interesting.

This is why I voted DS9.
Can't find it in reruns though .

None of the above. I'm a fan of Firefly, Doctor Who and Red Dwarf for my Sci Fi television geekdom.

If I had to pick one, it would be the lastest incarnation of the ST movie. That was pretty good.

Well, as you can tell by my screen name, I'm a bit of a Worf fan...my favorites in order would be NG, OS, Voyager, DS9, Enterprise.

I also love BSG (old and new!), Dr. Who, and the various Stargates. Actually, I think if I had to choose I'd pick Stargate as a franchise over ST...but you never know what new incarnation might change my mind!
