Star Tours question

I've been on Star Tours exactly one time way back on my first trip in 2003. I haven't been on it since because that ride made me a little sick to my stomach. The movie and the movement didn't seem to be in sync and, well.... I'm wondering if it is still this way because I really want to try it again! I normally love this type of ride.

I tend to get a bit nauseated with motion simulators but I have ridden Star Tours twice in the last couple of months and it did not bother me either time. It probably would not hurt to take some Dramamine before you ride it, though, just to reduce the possibility.

Impossible to tell if it will affect you the same way. While the attraction has changed a bit, I have heard of no major changes to the motion system.

It makes me more nauseated since they added the 3D to it. I used to be able to ride it several times in s row but now it's a 1 and done thing with me. I like it but can't take it more than once and usually have to close my eyes before it's over.

We rode last July before they changed it, and it got to me. We rode again last month and now that it's updated, it made me even more nauseated. And it seems longer now, I thought it would never end! I take ginger supplements for motion sickness, and since I've been taking that, nothing else bothers me except this and when I rode Dinosaur twice in a row - once was fine but I should've skipped the second. ST is fun, but I'll be skipping it in the future.

I used to get that way as well, but since they updated the 3D and added the new footage, I've been fine. It's one of my favorite rides now! Also, my wife, who can't see the 3D in things like Philharmagic, can see the effects without any problem.

I know people with back problems who need to avoid it altogether because it's such a rough ride.

I don't think they've updated in the last year except to add Jekku. The big change was way back in the late 2000s. Not sure what you experienced.

The addition of Jekku has been added since our trip in July year - that's the change I'm referring to. It made it seem a lot longer (don't know if it actually is or just that I felt so bad I couldn't wait for it to be over!) and that part affected me more.

I haven't noticed the motion and movie being out of sync. But I also don't get motion sick.

FYI: Jakku is with an "a".

I never had any ride issues til a few years ago so now I take a Dramamine (or motion sickness pill) & I'm good to go. All the rides that were starting to make me feel funny/yucky (TOT, Star Tours, the roller coasters, Soarin') are all good now! Just make sure to give it enough time to kick in...it wasn't quite in effect yet when I got on TOT & I felt yucky again for a bit.
