Star Tours and Pregnant

Heck no to Star Tours while pregnant. I was actually surprised how rough it was on our last visit (last year)... have they made it jolt more or am I showing my age??? My 6 year old was complaining that his arms felt bruised from hitting the armrests.

I'm getting to this point and I'm only 26 lol. Each year we ride I always end up saying "has it always been this jerky?"

Yes! We went last year and I remember many times the seat belt hitting th tummy hard, as the seats shifted harshly. I am no worry wart but I would not go on it pregnant. Best of luck!!

I agree with both previous posters. My feet don't reach the ground in the back row, so I have to hold on to the armrests or I flail everywhere (the back row is my favorite for this reason, actually - the ride is crazier! lol). If I'm not holding on tightly to the armrests (or not at all if I'm seated next to someone I don't know), the seat belt can hit my lower stomach pretty hard (especially when it comes to a stop after going into lightspeed on the one sequence).

Star Tours is a ride I can no longer handle. I did it once during the preview of the reopening, and it reminded me why I don't ride it. It and Indy are 2 rides that are just not worth riding any more. Don't get me wrong, I like the ride, but the severe headaches after wreck the rest of the day for me.

Soarin', however, also has a warning, and is super gentle.

Soarin' premiered in 2001 with a warning, but it was due to nausea for pregnant women. It was removed within a year or so, and does not have the warning now.

That said, it is very interesting to find on Soarin' what can cause nausea! My daughter, who rode Star Tours 8 times within 3 hours during the preview, rode Indy as a solo rider for 40 mins without having to get off during a special event (I didn't count, I waited outside after 1 ride) and rode Big Thunder 10 times straight when it was previewed without a hitch, tried to ride Soarin' 2 weeks post leg surgery as it was one of the few rides she thought she could handle, only to work hard not to throw up during the ride (and had to leave the park after.)

I feel Indy is about the same or worse than Star Tours when it comes to a rough ride.

How interesting! I was sure I looked up all the rides with warnings when I went (while pregnant) in 2006 and Soarin' was on list. I wonder where I was looking. I'm glad to know it doesn't currently have an expectant mother advisory!

All seats move. I will be about 8 weeks pregnant during our June trip and my husband is bummed because he gets motion sick but now he will have to ride with my son since I won't chance it while Preggo.

The last time we went I was about 15 weeks pregnant (we've got to start planning this better), and I followed all the recommendations, though I did ride Mater and RSR. This time I'm feeling on the fence about RSR. I'm not sure what I'll decide to do in the end, mostly in case of an emergency stop.

I would definitely avoid it while pregnant, not only for the movement but because the motion sickness would be insane. I'm
motion sickness prone in general, but it is so much worse during pregnancy for me!

Until last Christmas I would have said Not a biggie to RSR. But last Christmas we E-stopped. Just as we were crossing the finish line 35mph to ZERO. I was really surprised how hard that stop was. Now I don't recommend it
