Star JOnes is leaving the view...

Star JOnes just announced she is leaving the view and none of them even knew she was going to do it. Barbara had to tell the audience to stand up and give her an ovation. I for one do not like her and hope they have someone who is a little more truthful take her place (ie how she lost weight for example)

Well, in People she said she was told a couple days before they made the Rosie announcement, that her contract was not being renewed. Sounds like Rosie could possibly have made that a contingency. No great loss either way.

And I'm just going to be honest, I haven't liked OR respected Rosie since her big magazine fiasco when she told a colleague (matter of record) that she was a liar, and that liars got cancer. That was an incredibly hateful and perverse (not to mention unprofessional as hell) thing to say and really gave insight into her true character, for me. Esp. considering she has been very free with the story of her mom dying of cancer and how it affected her.

I won't be watching the View any time soon.

Basically Star clamied that her contract was not renewed for the tenth season.

She is a freak. I liked her so much better when she was chubby and not married to a guy who obviously married her for what she has and not who she is... (He certainly didn't marry her because she is a girl, he doesn't like them!)

As for Rosie, I don't know if she can share the spotlight with other people. we shall see what happens...

I'm no Star fan, either, but I don't see why we expect every person in the public view to share the details of any and all procedures, medical and otherwise, they've undergone. I know the media feeds us a constant stream of this information, but it's gotten to the point that if someone wants to keep something private, they are scorned for it. It's none of anyone's business how Star lost her weight, and the only comment I've seen her make is that she didn't want to share that because she didn't want to become a celebrity "spokesperson" for that method. That makes perfect sense to me. I think we cross a line when we expect and are then angry not to receive personal information from a celebrity who has decided not to share it. Just my .02.

So now The View will be Rosie, Joy, Elisabeth and occasionally Barbara??? Yikes, better find something else to do during that hour. Meredith was really the only one I enjoyed. Joy is funny but a bad "overtalker", Elisabeth is sweet but doesn't really contribute much, and Rosie will, I'm afraid, be unable to transistion into the "co" part of co-host. I know she will be the lead person, but she'll still have to participate in the give-and-take discussions, and I'm not sure how she'll do that.

I really liked Ropsie, but she lost me when she became political. I don't care about her sexual orientation at all, but I watched her purely for entertainment, and if she's going to harangue guests again, well, I'm outta there...
