Anyone stay at Star Island REsort in Kissimmee?? How is it? Is it owned by the Starwood corporation the same people that own Vistana and Vistana Villages?

I don't think it's owned by Starwood, but I could be wrong. We stayed there last year in a 3 bedroom. It's a nice resort in a good location. Nice pool area, and large pleasant villa. Nothing bad to say really, we've stayed at Vistana and Cypress Harbour and my family preferred those resorts. DH felt they had more of a family, resort-ee, feel to them. He felt Star Island had more of a gucci , aloof feel to it. He missed having a restaurant or snack bar on site, as well as a little store. Personally, I felt it was very nice.

Thanks so much for your info. I wanted someone who had similar resort experiences to me to give an impression. Since you have stayed at Vistana as well as Cypress Harbour I know you are a good judge. I can deal if it has a Gucci feel I cannot deal if it has a trailer park feel such as when I stayed at Liki Tiki or the last time I stayed at Wyndham Palms.

I'm pretty sure it's a Fairfield Resort now, it was in tranistion when my uncle stayed there not that long ago.

I am bumping this because I have an opportunity to go to Cypress Harbour or Star Island. We are a family of 5 with three teenagers-1 girl, 2 boys. Right now, I can exchange through II for a 3 bedroom at Star Island or a 2 bedroom at Cypress Harbour. Which is closest to Disney? We may not have much Disney time and may have more resort time. Which is best? I really have mixed feelings because of the 3 bedroom vs the 2 bedroom. It certainly would allow for my teenagers to have their own space. Thanks!!! Ann Marie :flower:

being that Cypress Harbor is a Marriott you are definately going to find that it is a nicer place. We've stayed there twice and it is a great resort.
