anyone ever use staples services
I am looking to bind some copies together and
make a autograph book for our trip
is it cheaper that way, or should I wait till I get there and
buy one?
TIApopcorn::

We made an autograph book like that years ago. We also made passorts doing the same thing.

We used blank index cards for the front/back cover and inserts. The front and back cover got laminated and these also got small spines (the curly kind).

Total cost: about $1-- mind you this was also done in 1999, so the Staples prices might be about $3 or so now.

My passports had a similar set up but the inserts weren't blank but had printed pictures of the country flags.

We got comments all the time from CM's and face characters about these books.

Here's a tip. If you live near a teacher supply store, they may be cheaper than Staples/Office Max for this stuff.

We just did them for our September trips and staples was awesome. I used the DISign board and printed templates that someone made. They were very cute and she had more than 50 of the characters. I printed them out on cardstock and then took them to staples to have cut and bound. Whole cost for cutting and binding was about $6-$7. Could have bought one in the parks but we've already done that. Now my kids have a personalized one from mom.

This isn't the *most* economical.. but I'll throw it out there.

I bought a binding machine from staples.com (through sunshine rewards, of course)...

I figure.. that I was making a journal and an activity book for each kid. Estimate of $5 per book.. that's $30 for this trip alone. I tend to do this EVERY summer. So.. I spent $60, and now have my own binding machine. The spirals are 100 for $5 if you get the 1/4" and 25 for $5 if you get the 1/2".

And, it's fun to do!

I do scrapbooking & card making. I bought a Bind-it-all (59.99) & do my own. If you know a scrapper or card maker they may have one & all you have to buy is the wires ($3-4).

Yes, it's very worth it. It comes out looking a like great quality book! I just did a puzzle book for my girls last week. I printed out everything on regular paper and brought it in. I did a google search for "Disney Printable Puzzles" and many options came up. Staples put a plastic back, clear plastic cover and sprial bound it (blue or black spiral) for a whopping $2.50! The girls loved them! It is done while you wait so it couldn't be easier! Good luck!

I had mine done at Staples, including printing each page (2 pages to a sheet). here's a few pix of it:

I was impressed with the results. I probably saved about $3 over buying one at WDW; however, this one's customized for my DN. The binding itself was $1 or $2. I had it made by Staples in late April 2008.
