What is the difference in these? We have a standard pool view. What is the diiference with this and the deluxe pool view room? Is it the view or simply the inside of the room itself?
I can't find any explanation.

Thanks!

Hi there..... the deluxe rooms are only "slightly" larger than the standard.. maybe 50-75 square feet.

I believe they have upgraded toiletries and a make up mirror in the vanity area.. not all of them have a day bed.

Hope this helps

Hi again..

I do not think the view comes into play with STD vs DLX... except to say the deluxe rooms are on the higher floors - some people prefer the lower floors to be closer to the animals.

We just got back from the YC and AKL. When we checked into the AKL, we were told we had been upgraded from our regular sav. view to a deluxe room. The CM, however, couldn't show us on a map where our room was located. I thought that was a bad sign. And she didn't want to talk to us about the view. We finally found it. It was over the lobby, and the view was mainly of the roof below us and some birds(remember, this was now a "deluxe" room). Our bellman was very helpful and helped us get a little bit better view in another section. When I asked the CM about the difference in the deluxe rooms, she said the main difference was an additional 20sq feet mainly on the balcony and are located on the 5th floor. The 5th floor rooms hang over the the other other floors just a bit. That's the main difference. We didn't have a day bed. We didn't have a separate dresser (just the one under the TV), we didn't have bunk beds. We did have a make up mirror. I really don't see why these are deluxe. I guess I was spoiled by the YC. There were many more amenities in the room at the YC, but of course, not animals. But then again, I'm not sure I would have seen many animals from our first room. If I wanted a deluxe hotel experience, I'm not sure I'd stay at the AKL again. Even when I asked about late check out the CM was rude and said that don't do late check out, but since no one was checking into our room that day, we could have an extra hour. At the YC, it wasn't a problem.
Sorry, I started getting off on a tangent. I'll stop now. I hope this information about the deluxes helps.

Forgive me for being slow on this one. We were just there and I am really confused about the view of the lobby. How does the room have a lobby view? I guess I didn't pay that much attention to the entire layout of the place. Just curious.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. The balcony view wasn't of the lobby; that was just the location. The front of the room faced the lobby. You can stand in front of the door and look down on the noisy lobby or if you are in the lobby, look up, and behind the railings on the floors above are rooms. The view from the balcony was of the third floor metal roof and and of a very small savannah (which mainly seemed to have birds).
I hope this makes more sense.

Thanks. That would be the pits especially with paying for the view too. We were so lucky to stay at AKL with the closure of FQ. We probably will always stay here now. We just loved it especially DD10 and DS11. We'll probably have to go with a standard view though. Teachers in Iowa don't make much $$. Some days we were never in the room anyway and the viewing areas were nice. I liked the hotel itself and the service as much as the view. I would not want to be in a standard room by the sidewalk to the bus stops though! Bad news.
