Hi We will be spending our first Xmas :santa: :santa: away from home at our other home BWV. We have a standard view 1brm booked and wondered if anyone had a suggestion on a good room. We will be checking in very early and thought we may have a chance at requesting a specific room number if we knew what to ask for. Thanking you in advance.
Joan

Never make a request for a specific room by room number. If it is occupied, they won't have any idea of what you want. Since you already have a standard room, that doesn't leave much other than close to/far from elevators or high/low floor.

With the high occupancy during this time, I wouldn't count on getting your room early.

But if you don't make any requests at all, you may have a better chance of getting something earlier.

Thanks for the advise. :thumbsup2 One other question.............is there a map showing the various sections. I seem to remember seeing a color coded map indicating standard, preferred, etc. on the boards at one time.

I always request top floor, across from the bus stop. Never been disappointed.

Here you go (thanks to Granny):

Thank you so much!! That is exactly what I wanted to show DH. I remember seeing it some time ago and it gives you a great perspective on the overall resort. Really appreciate all the help. "Happy Thanksgiving" from a Canadian Disser.

ooooo maps - I love maps.

Is there a place on the Disboard where I can find a bunch of maps like these?

If not how can I sabe this one for futur ref.? If I just bookmark this page will it be here next year before our trip?

We stayed in room 4123 and it was amazing. First of all the layout of the room is different since it is on the bend of BWV and it was huge!! We had four doors tha led out to our wrap around balcony. From one end you could catch a glimpse of the fireworks at Epcot. From the other we could see Tower of Terror. Also it was located right near the stairs so we would walk down and end up right out side on the path to the bus stop. If you look at the map in the pp the room is located at the bottom right corner of the green line.

Thank you so much for all the advise............will be checking out that room number. :thumbsup2

Hi Joan,

I am of the thinking that when a resort is BOOKED it goes from "room ready" to "assigned". So, with that in mind I would a make a general request like DebbieB suggested and ask for top floor. I agree with Deb that requesting a specific room would likely be more problematic than helpful. Hope you and your guys have a wonderful Christmas stay.

Melani, I would just right click on the image and save it to your computer. That way you will always have it to reference.

Just want to add that all of our stays (4, I think) have been in the standard view section. We have always been happy with our room. We don't look at BWV like VB or HHI, we spend much less time in the room at BWV. For us BWV is our gateway to the parks. Just love walking to the gate at Epcot.

The only down side is the hallway trek. However, when going out, there are stairways that will take you outside and on your way. I don't think you can return that way though. Still, our trek is short compared to taking buses or driving from most other resorts. And we also like taking the boat to Epcot and just taking in the views on our trip (like 15 minutes).

You won't be disappointed.

Thanks Rob and to everyone else for the great advise. Rob the boys are pretty excited as you can imagine. They want to play tennis after they open their gifts on Christmas morning. Something they could never do here.

Wishing you and your family a Happy Holiday.

Joan, Bill and boys.

I got 3123 one time with my standard request (top floor, across from the bus stop). It is a great room! So on my next trip, I specifically requested it. We ended up down near Jellyrolls! At that time they were using rooms facing the old DVC offices & the canal as standard view. That was the first time I ever requested a specific room # and the last time. If it's occupied, they just put you anywhere.
