What can you expect from a standard room at the Poly?

For ex. does it have ... 1 bed, or does it have 2? Does it have 2 couches or none? I'd appreciate if you guys can get back to me on this :thumbsup2

And i'd like to know about the other standard rooms in WL, Contemporary, AKL ;)

Thank you guys sooo much! I dont know what i'd do without DIS! :goodvibes

The standard (garden view)rooms I have had at the Poly and CR have both had 2 beds and a fold out couch. Both resorts are great, I would have a hard time picking a favorite between them.

Standard rooms at both resorts do indeed have 2 queen beds and a fold out daybed that is a full sized twin. They are the best option for us because Grandpa needs his own bed and we give our dd 11 the twin.

With the construction ongoing at the Contemporary, if you can manage to afford the Poly I would definitely recommend it over CR right now.

CR is the resort of my heart- has been since I was a baby- with the monorail going through and we were supposed to stay there this past trip until I saw the construction pics online. It was even worse to me when we got there. But then, I'm emotionally invested in the resort LOL.

Still, seeing all the construction workers, barricades, and all at the resort when we dined there didn't feel very 'magical' so especially if this is your first or likely only trip to WDW for awhile. . .choose Poly.

Hope your trip is great!

Wow that's sounds like a good standard room to met, but then again, this will be my first time staying onsite so i'm not the expert :lmao: But thank you! Can anyone answer my question about the other resorts as well?

AKL, Contemporary and WL's standards?
Those hotels are all the apple of my eye (And my family of course :thumbsup2)

Like i said previously, i have no idea where i'd be without DIS!

Contemporary either has 2 double beds & pull out couch, or 1 king size bed & pull out couch.

<3 CR, but the construction that's going on, I would choose Poly currently.

We stayed one night at the WL in 2002 when CR couldn't add an additional night on to our last minute trip. We LOVED it however there was no day bed in the room- I think that the beds were not queen they seemed small and for one night we had to cram Grandpa and the much younger dd into the one bed. So if you need more than 2 beds I think the only WL option would be requesting a room with bunk beds, I think you can do that?

CR is a great place to stay if you can ignore the construction- walk way to the MK is great (look out for the busses though!) from there.

Hope that helps!

Thank you everyone!
When is this constructino going to end? We are going in last week of April to first week of May. Will it still be under construction then!

:scared1:

Do you think there would be enough room to maybe put an inflateable bed?

At CR or Poly yes, at WL definitely not. The room felt tiny to me- maybe it was the high posts on the bed but I felt like we were literally stumbling over each other in that room. I would never try to stay there again personally unless it was just either me and my husband solo or us and our daughter- and even then it would be cramped as she's not as little as she used to be!

Have you thought about looking into a WL villa? They're a DVC resort and don't have housekeeping, etc, and I'm not sure how it works with either renting someone's points to stay there or making ressies there but you could ask on the DVC board- that might give you another option if you have your heart set on staying at WL but can't fit into the room there.
