I am booked in a standard view room @ BC 8/25-/8/31. It would be about 60 something $$ to change to GV. Is it worth it?:confused3 Thanks

I am never big on paying for views when staying at Disney. It's a different story when I am at the beach. I feel like this is one way to save money and still get the resort you want. I also think the views at the BC are some of the worst. I also don't spend alot of time sitting on my balcony looking out at the view when I am at Disney. We are usually getting ready to go out, out and about or getting ready for bed. However, $60 is not that much in the grand scheme of things(unless it is $60 a night) so if you like sitting on your balcony then I would go for it.

I would pay the extra. We had the most awful standard view room at the BC one year. When we pulled back our curtains to see the view from our room, we had a wonderful view of 2 rusty air conditioning units on a partial roof. We won't ever make that mistake again.

Before this year, a standard view at BC was trees (some with views of Illuminations at night) rooftops, or the parking lot. The new BC room categories mean that standard really is quite standard (parking lot, rooftops) and garden view is trees or courtyard.

As a result, we thought it was well worth booking garden view at $6 more per night in February and $10 more per night in August. Actually, August is probably a little more than $10 per night because I originally booked garden view CL with a general public discount and then could have switched to standard view CL with a better bounceback offer. I didn't want to give up the garden view to apply the bounceback.

While we're pretty flexible about our view, I always like to avoid overlooking a parking lot - booking garden view helps to ensure that you won't!

LOL with the partial roof part of your description, it almost sounds like you got a BC version of waterview .

For me, it depends on how long I'll be there, and what the weather is supposed to be. If it's super hot or super cold, I probably won't use my balcony anyway, and if I'm only there for a night or two, I don't really need a view.

I will say that my last stay was in a standard view, and it was a roof view - but since it was a standing only balcony and I was only there for two nights (and arriving late on arrival day and departing early on departure day) it wasn't a big deal. But if I was there for a few days in more temperate weather, I'd spring for the garden view.
