Handful of fastpasses, dinner, whatelse is usually given out just for sitting through a tour?

We toured in August and got Fast Passes and ice cream while we waited for a driver after the tour -nothing fancy!

Someone posted on the planning forums that they got a $50 Disney giftcard. Nothing fancy, huh? Guess they don't need to, it's Disney and plenty of people are ready to buy! Not at all like traditional timeshares, like the one we went to and got a free room, dinner, breakfast, a tour and snacks while we toured. But it was horrible...never again will we do that, it was not worth the free room or meals at all! Did it for a goof, BC (Before Children)!

We toured in December 2007. We received 3 fastpass rides or a $15 giftcard.

Ice Cream after the tour.

Disney was nice enough to give the incentive to everyone in our party even though my DW and I were the only ones who went on the tour.

Hope that helps.

Gifts vary seasonally. There was a time they did $50 gift cards, that was mostly at Disneyland, some in FL, I think. I haven't heard of those being offered for quite a while.

As of December they were still giving the $50.00 giftcards at Disneyland.

We went in December 2006 when Dis was offering the F&F + 15 year anniversary promo. We received fast passes, ice cream and 2 $50 gift certificates - one for us and one for the referring member. I don't think that promo went on too long and since we agreed to purchase, that may be why we received the gift certificates. Not sure if we would have gotten those if we hadn't purchased, though.

It was a nice tour, though. No pressure, relaxing, relatively enjoyable. :thumbsup2

Just back from our trip. We toured SSR yesterday and were given 4 $15 gift cards (one for each member of the family, including the kids). Not bad for an hour of our time on departure day. We were impressed by the lack of pressure and quality of the rooms. Of course, after 5 days in a vlaue with a 9 and 5 year old, anything looks really nice!

The kids loved the ice cream - we enjoyed a $100 gift card for attending our open house yesterday. Too bad we only had an hour before heading to the airport to spend it LOL. We went over to World of Disney and got a couple of hoodies we'd decided cost too much but we'd wanted!

Just wondering, are existing DVC members permitted to take the DVC tour in CA?

Not so much interested in the goodies; but seeing a model.

Perhaps there are member hours too?

We toured SSR in Dec and our 4 kids had a blast with the on site sitters.we got 6 $15 giftcards and 6 fastpass cards... one of each for each family member.

The DVC tour at Disneyland is of a Saratoga Springs model, not a Grand Californian model.... :sad2:

that's what i get for assumming:rolleyes1 ; wonder when they'll have a mock up of the GC:confused3

Actually, currently there are NO models available to tour at DLR . . . .. I believe they are constructing the GC models now so dismantled the SSR model.

i'll let you know end of June:goodvibes ; hope to sneak a peek if it's up & running & we are "allowed" to visit.

When We Toured Two Years Ago We Were Offered Fast Passes But We Were Going Home That Day. Then Then Gave Us A $50 Gift Card. I Just Assumed They Gave This To Us Because We Bought In.

I spoke to my guide Sunday on another issue and we got on the subject of GC. I believe he said February or March the GC mock-ups will be done. He also said that he was going to have an event for his California clients not long after the mock-ups opened so we all could come and see them. This is something probably all CA DVC members will hear about from their guides.

When we toured and bought in 2002 we were given vouchers for lunch at Beaches and Cream.

We originally did a tour and purchased 240 BWV points in December 1999 and did not receive an incentive (Disney gift card, etc.). We added 110 AKV points in October 2007 and again we did not receive any incentives. Oh, well...we have 3 trips planned for this year that we would probably otherwise have had to pay for a resort room...that in itself is saving us money!
