My Delta flight has been changed (for the 3rd time) and this time its 3 hours earlier than planned. I was wondering since I will be at the first leg of my trip at 8:00am, if I might be able to go standby on any other flight but I never done this and was wondering how to go about it. Do they cancel your intended flight to go on standby or am I able to retain my flight until I get on a standby flight and what are my chances. I will be in Cinnicinnati at 8:00 am and my scheduled connection is at 3:00 pm. Anyone ever done this from the Cinncinnati airport? :confused3 TIA

Have you called Delta yet? If I am understanding you correctly it looks like you now have a layover that is three hours longer than the original? If that is the case, I would try calling Delta and asking them if there is an earlier connecting flight that you can be booked on since they changed the flight. I flew with Delta last year because I got a very good deal and they changed our flight around 10-12 times. I found them pretty reasonable when I called them and they normally were helpful about booking us on a different flight if possible. From what I understand from the Delta booking reps when flights are changed they do not look at your connecting flights. We had ours changed once where our flight arrived 30 minutes after our connecting flight left. It seemed nuts to me that they don't look at these things but apparently they only look at the outbound leg of the flight so if your connection is unacceptable due to a flight change they may work with you. Hope this helps somewhat and I understood your question correctly. Good luck.

Tinkim, thanks for the reply. As it turned out, after I posted, I thought of maybe a connection to Atlanta might be available and voila! I called and everything has been resolved and now I'm getting into Orlando 3 hours earlier than before! I just hope they don't change it anymore keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks again. :thumbsup2
