Stampin' up retiring colors

I went to my first Stamp Club last night.

If anyone's a stamper, you may be interested in this news.

At the end of June, a bunch of colors are retiring and there will be another batch of new ones. They're also reconfiguing the new ones.

There are color charts of both the retiring colors and the new configurations, probably on their website, but also on the scrapbook update, and linked from the two peas message board.

The new catalog will be out in July.

I've also heard that they will be selling the retiring pads for 60% off.

Linda thanks for the heads up. This news couldn't have been out long as my SU rep whose also my BF didn't know and she was just on the phone with them the middle of last week and they didn't tell her about it. they also hadn't sent out emails on this.

Every june they release 5 new "in colors" this years from what she's seen there are 5 new ones and 5 old ones being brought back. One new thing is they will now keep the colors for 2 years.

They are discontinuing a TON of colors (recession must have hit) and they are boy colors blues and greens. There will only be 44 colors remaining from the sounds of what she was seeing.

I'm going to be falling off the ban wagon next month I can see that, and with ckc

The 60% off area is only for online purchase, as far as she can tell the reps get no credit for any of that.

Off to look at my stamp pads and paper supplies.....

All right, I know I'm going to regret asking this. . .

I was looking at the Stampin' Up site today, and I LOVE the stuff. So much, that I can see myself getting sucked in. So, tell me, what do I HAVE to have? And for scrapping. . .not so much cards!

Brooke you're going to regret it but the quality of the products are second to none!!! They are the only ink I use for stamping on my pages the amount of stamp sets I own is insane. I'd suggust seeing if you have a rep in your area and checking out the products 1st hand. I would also consider waiting until they do the new releases of colors it is a real change from what's out there now other wise you will have to by the bottle of ink to re ink the pad (which I still haven't done to mine after 3 years.). It is a whole nother world.

I NEVER stamped in my scrapbooks - I only went over there to buy ink pads, initially, but it sucked me right in, so be careful. Now, I'm committed to once a month for a year, and I've got a wish list to cover it.

Welcome to the crowd Linda. I was sucked in 3 years ago haven't surfaced yet. This is a HUGE change for them, my rep/bf hasn't seen one like this and she's been doing it for like 8 years, or she can't rmember one. She remembers them adding and redoing in 05ish. Honestly I can say the new families are WAY different and are going to take some getting used to. I already have a good amount of the pads so I changed them around so I could get an idea of what she was seeing. I have something like 22 that have been discontinued some of which are my favorites and I will have to do a stock up on those papers and get a bottle of ink. I'm going to go back and pull out some of the old catalogs I've collected to get a better idea of how they've done things in the past.

I know that I LOVE the products and have NEVER has an issue with any of them. Even some of the sets I've bought off of ebay that are 6 or more years old.
