Stalling- and it's my own fault

I've been bouncing around 147 for awhile now. Go up a bit, down a bit, back to 147 over and over. (or 146.8 or 147.2 or 147.4- you get the drift LOL)
I think it may be my own fault though- been skimping on the veggies lately and eating SF items (like ATkins breakfast bars -didn't seem to stall me before -but I'm eating them more often now for breakfast than I was before) and sometimes not drinking as much water (although I don't drink anything else- just not drinking enough I don't think.... hadn't really been paying attention to how much I was drinking though... getting lazy about it and noticing sometimes I'm thirsty yet forgetting to drink for awhile).

So back to the grindstone for me.... just posting this as accountability or something.... for me. LOL

I think ALSO it may be related to that time of the month (had hysterectomy so my only clear sign of this is ovary cramps- too much info? LOL- and I haven't had them this month BUT I just looked at my calendar and this time last month is when I did.... so it's probably that TOM) but also I think this is a weight my body wants to stay at for some reason. It's been many years but I remember that after losing really fast after having my son (middle child who is 5.5yrs old) that when I got the Depo Provera shot and my weight stopped dead cold- I stayed around 150-155 for a LONG time no matter if what I ate- even if I ate a lot of chocolate/junk food or tried to eat well. Then ofcourse I gained more with my 3rd child. But my point is that I stuck around this weight no matter what I did- for years. So it might be a weight my body is 'comfortable' with. I've read that this happens at some weights for some people. So I might have a battle on my hands to get past this point- and obviously I do. LOL

So to be accountable- I'm posting that I'm going to get serious about this again. I think I have become lax about things because even though I'm still overweight for my height and bone structure and have quite a bit to lose still (my goal weight is a pretty generous one.... I really should weight less for my bone structure and only barely 5'2 in height) -I'm a lot happer with my body than I was before and enjoying wearing size 8 (I was not in size 8 last time I weighed around 150- more like size 10/12!!!). But I'm not where I want to be yet- so I need to get serious again. This post is to publicly post that so maybe I'll get my rear in gear again (so to speak) LOL

(Also haven't been exercising at all lately. Keep telling myself I'm going to- and then making excuses daily for not doing so. Gotta stop that!!!)

Ps. my top half can STOP losing weight now. LOL It's little enough.... the bottom half of my body has quite a way to go though. So bottom half- get with the program and start shrinking! LOL
 
You can do it...I know how you feel about loosing on the top half...gee if I lost around my middle as fast as I loose around my chest, I would look good ...lol

and uh yeah..... the chest can stop shrinking RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND. LOL It was bad enough before- especially since I stopped nursing recently before starting Atkins- but now it's really really bad. My girls are disappearing way too quickly. LOL My butt is looking much better- but belly (especially lower abdomen from pregnancies/c-sections/hysterectomy) and thighs AND calves have a long way to go.... to catch up with my top half. But hey, I can look good in pictures from the waist up! LOL
 

First, go get a BIG glass of ice water. Then, put away the s/f bars & make some eggs. I made some yummy deviled eggs last night.
Do some "bottom half" exercise & then get another glass of water.

Good luck! It sounds to me like you are looking great right now, though. But, I have the same problem, I'm too short for my weight, LOL. :rolleyes:
 
Perhaps those of us who are

should get together in some little corner somewhere! I, too am 5'2" and am still waiting for that growth spurt upwards. I'm done done growing outwards! (Or downwards, if looking at things from the back door! ;) ) Bibbidy, are you eating enough? Varying your calorie intake slightly day to day? I'm doing WW, but this should hold true for Atkins as well. If you aren't eating enough, your body goes into "save the calories!" mode.

Yes, I believe I'm eating enough- can't possibly imagine eating more! (Making myself eat even when I'm not hungry- never going more than 6 waking hours without eating as Dr Atkins said) -and whenever I eat OVER my normal max- I stop losing weight also!

I am varying my intake (caloric and carb) because I see I have better results that way. I'm glad someone else thinks that too so I know it's not just in my head.

I'm sure it was just a combination of TOM plus eating more and more SF treats (although still not that many at all.... but I know me and apparently I can't have much without stalling me. Can't have Diet Rite, can't have cream cheese, etc- others can, but obviously I can't even in moderation! *sigh*) and not exercising for awhile. Plus although I am always drinking nothing but water, I wasn't really watching how MUCH I drank and might not have been drinking enough.

Had a good day yesterday- and made sure I drank a lot of water (and went to the bathroom about every 15 min also LOL) and did not have one stinkin' bite of anything SF or splenda-made/etc. And was rewarded with FINALLY breaking that 147 hump. Lost a lb. :) Woohoo!!! Guess I just had to get serious about it again. Got a little tiny bit lax and look where it got me! LOL Good thing I didn't CHEAT.... I'd probably gained 10lbs or something knowing my body. LOL

Yes, us short people gotta stick together. I've given up on the growth spurt though. That dream has died. LOL
 
I don't know how it's even possible-but it happened. I woke up EXACTLY 146.2 again. No loss- but isn't that weird to be the exact same weight again to .2lbs? LOL Thankfully Monday nights are measuring night though- and seeing I lost 2.5 inches last week keeps my spirits up- even though I've only lost 1lb in 2wks. LOL As I said, all my own fault obviously. I immediately started losing again as soon as I got back to the basics and cut out the SF treats. I guess that tells me something............ darnit. LOL
 
Okay I kicked that nasty EVIL 147lbs to the curb, by gosh! I hit 45lbs lost this morning- and 2.5lbs down from that nasty horrible evil 147lbs that wanted to stick to me like glue. But I wasn't having it! No siree! LOL

And you're so right! Oh and they haven't always told me I'm hardheaded and stubborn all my life for nothing. ;)
