Stalking the availability tool...

I am very surprised at how much luck I have been having stalking the availability tool on the member site 2 months before our anniversary trip.

Called MS 3 weeks ago when we first joined DVC looking for anything other than SSR for June 22,23, and 24. I was told there was nothing.

Started "stalking" the site and put together 1 night BLT TP View Studio, 2 nights in a 1 bedroom SV at AKL. Was not a big fan of AKL (no offense, just not where we wanted to be on our anniversary)...and did not want to waste the points for just the two of us, but secured it anyways to make sure we had something.

A few days later, a second night (23rd) at BLT TP View Studio opened up, so switched one of the AKL nights to that.

5 days later, GFV 1br opened up on the 24th, so switched the final AKL night to that...But still not happy we had to burn 46 points for the two of us for a single night.

...Today, a LV Studio at the Poly opened the night of the 24th...so switched to that!!!

Now, if my waitlist for the 3rd BLT TP View night will come in (so we don't have to split one night)....or my full waitlist for all 3 GFV Studio nights will come through (our home resort), it will work out perfectly!!!

Anyone else have an experience like this?

Anything can happen, problem is you can't depend on it.

I have had good luck with the resort availability tool as well. I've gotten AKL Club level twice with it! (At less than 5 weeks out!)

As with anything, diligence has its rewards. I have had good luck too, but have yet to snag Concierge. Hats off to whoever posted that.

Yes! Our first trip was pieced together like that too...we became members and had a trip booked 7 weeks after we got our number! We stalked and made many changes and had an amazing trip sampling the resorts. Have fun!

I stalked the website for a trip in November 2013. I was surprised what popped up - a night in AKV Club or value, a BLT standard view studio. I put together 5 nights in a BWV studio garden view the last weekend of food & wine about 2 months out, only the first night was waitlist.
