A few years ago we put in a gorgeous stamped concrete patio and walkway. It is a tannish color. The walkway leads off the left side of our driveway and around the house to the back patio. On the right side of our driveway we have a small walkway that leads to our small front porch. That was put in by the builder and is the normal concrete color. Home is only 5 years old and the concrete is in excellent shape. I was thinking about staining that walkway and the front porch to somewhat match the stamped concrete, so I would do a tannish color. Would this be an easy DIY project? Has anyone had good results doing this? Would it be real expensive? It is only about 100 SF, tops.

Cheap? Yes.

Easy? Yes.

We did this about 4 years ago. If I remember correctly, we had to put a kind of primer on first. that was the most difficult part. It was coarse and chewed up the paint rollers (we did much more than 100 sq. ft). It looks terrific!

Great! Just what I wanted to hear!

We are kind of in a Catch-22....DH is laid off and now has time to do all these little around the house projects I've dreamed up...however we now don't have the money to do them. I was thinking this might be something cheap he could do that would make a big impact!

OH, How I feel your pain! DH has also been laid off (for longer than I care to think about). There are so many projects he could be doing, but we're afraid to spend too much money, so we stuck with the smaller projects.

The concrete we did before he was laid off. I'm very happy with the result.
