Well it was an unexpected trip and as usual too short. I called last week and it was $40 a night so I couldn't complain. Our seasonal tix were good til the 22nd. Where else you gonna go for $40 a day plus food?
We didn't get to the fort until 5'ish on Monday. Had lot's to do before the trip so that was a bummer. I really wanted to be pulling in around 10:00. Once we got hooked up DD and I took the boat over to the MK who was having EMH. The park was somewhat crowded but we walked, and I mean walked on every ride without stopping. We ate at Columbia Harbour House which is not great but it's ok. One of our neighbors and her 3 girls who go to school with my daughter told me she was going down Sunday-Tuesday. I said to Annie, I wonder what park they're at today. About 5 minutes later they come in to eat. We ended up doing the rides with them which was fun for my daughter. It was pretty cold that night as well. SM was closed down early. We did do the Jungle Cruise which is so old and outdated but if you get a good CM it's worth the trip. We were lucky to get Peter. He was so funny. When we were going thru the tunnel he said I don't know where this leads to but I would imagine it comes out at a Disney gift shop and a lady was taking his pic and he said ohhhhhhh a disposable camera. $5 at Wal-Mart, $200 at Disney. I think Disney let's those CM's poke fun at the ride since they know it's outdated.
Day 2- We went over to MGM around 10 and once again the park had a lot of visitors but no lines on the rides. We did T of T 5 times that day. R N R Coaster did have a good line but we had fastpass so that wasn't a problem. One of my favorite things to do at MGM is sit on a curb and watch the street performers. My favorite group is Alberto Dante, Paige Turner and Frances. It's a great way to beat the crowds during busier times. We walked in Hollywood and Vine for lunch. It's pricey but I thought the food was good. We went by the cart barn to say hi to Sundee as well. She said yes Donnie you're my favorite over BigDisneyDaddy and MrsGus. Yeahhhhhhhhhhh right. We know that's a lie.
Day 3- Went back to MK and did a few rides. Tried Tony's for lunch and it wasn't bad. Could have gotten the same food at Sbarro for $20 cheaper but I wasn't in the mall now was I? After hanging out at the fort we drove over to Epcot to see the Choir. Kirk Cameron was reading the Christmas story and I've never see a more beautiful performance during the holidays as I did that night. Afterwards we watched the fireworks which was also amazing.
Day 4- I drove up to the front to check on getting another day. It was available but over $100 bucks. Holiday rates started so no luck on a discount. The campground was empty and I don't understand why they didn't let us stay for the same rate. If it was hot and a/c was going I could see it. Greed I guess.
After packing we went to AK. Walked right on to the safari and Kali River. Everest of course is the RRC of AK and it was busy but not bad. We ate at Rainforest which was another $40 bucks that wasn't worth it. Next time we go I've got to stop and pack food. We only had breakfast stuff so next trip I'm getting cold cuts and better food. I don't mind eating at a park but the food is always the same and expensive.
Afterwards we went back to Epcot because I was so impressed with the choir I wanted to see it again. Went on Test Track, Mission Space and both times there we rode Spaceship Earth. It's back up for sneak preview. It's not a ton different but it was good. We actually got seats for the processional. Behind a tree but we were sitting. It was a great show and I recommend anybody going down, to go over and watch the last show and the fireworks. Afterwards we had to drive home. I hated leaving but we'll be back for another trip. During value season of course.
We also met a few dis'ers. LarryJ, TiggerinBama and PolynesianPixie. I know others were there but we didn't see them. Sorry for your loss. Ha Ha. AuburnJen came too late so maybe next time we'll meet up. Happy Holidays to all of you and to all of you who are either at the fort or going this week I hope the peacocks and otters leave a mess for you.
