Well it was an unexpected trip and as usual too short. I called last week and it was $40 a night so I couldn't complain. Our seasonal tix were good til the 22nd. Where else you gonna go for $40 a day plus food?

We didn't get to the fort until 5'ish on Monday. Had lot's to do before the trip so that was a bummer. I really wanted to be pulling in around 10:00. Once we got hooked up DD and I took the boat over to the MK who was having EMH. The park was somewhat crowded but we walked, and I mean walked on every ride without stopping. We ate at Columbia Harbour House which is not great but it's ok. One of our neighbors and her 3 girls who go to school with my daughter told me she was going down Sunday-Tuesday. I said to Annie, I wonder what park they're at today. About 5 minutes later they come in to eat. We ended up doing the rides with them which was fun for my daughter. It was pretty cold that night as well. SM was closed down early. We did do the Jungle Cruise which is so old and outdated but if you get a good CM it's worth the trip. We were lucky to get Peter. He was so funny. When we were going thru the tunnel he said I don't know where this leads to but I would imagine it comes out at a Disney gift shop and a lady was taking his pic and he said ohhhhhhh a disposable camera. $5 at Wal-Mart, $200 at Disney. I think Disney let's those CM's poke fun at the ride since they know it's outdated.

Day 2- We went over to MGM around 10 and once again the park had a lot of visitors but no lines on the rides. We did T of T 5 times that day. R N R Coaster did have a good line but we had fastpass so that wasn't a problem. One of my favorite things to do at MGM is sit on a curb and watch the street performers. My favorite group is Alberto Dante, Paige Turner and Frances. It's a great way to beat the crowds during busier times. We walked in Hollywood and Vine for lunch. It's pricey but I thought the food was good. We went by the cart barn to say hi to Sundee as well. She said yes Donnie you're my favorite over BigDisneyDaddy and MrsGus. Yeahhhhhhhhhhh right. We know that's a lie.

Day 3- Went back to MK and did a few rides. Tried Tony's for lunch and it wasn't bad. Could have gotten the same food at Sbarro for $20 cheaper but I wasn't in the mall now was I? After hanging out at the fort we drove over to Epcot to see the Choir. Kirk Cameron was reading the Christmas story and I've never see a more beautiful performance during the holidays as I did that night. Afterwards we watched the fireworks which was also amazing.

Day 4- I drove up to the front to check on getting another day. It was available but over $100 bucks. Holiday rates started so no luck on a discount. The campground was empty and I don't understand why they didn't let us stay for the same rate. If it was hot and a/c was going I could see it. Greed I guess.

After packing we went to AK. Walked right on to the safari and Kali River. Everest of course is the RRC of AK and it was busy but not bad. We ate at Rainforest which was another $40 bucks that wasn't worth it. Next time we go I've got to stop and pack food. We only had breakfast stuff so next trip I'm getting cold cuts and better food. I don't mind eating at a park but the food is always the same and expensive.

Afterwards we went back to Epcot because I was so impressed with the choir I wanted to see it again. Went on Test Track, Mission Space and both times there we rode Spaceship Earth. It's back up for sneak preview. It's not a ton different but it was good. We actually got seats for the processional. Behind a tree but we were sitting. It was a great show and I recommend anybody going down, to go over and watch the last show and the fireworks. Afterwards we had to drive home. I hated leaving but we'll be back for another trip. During value season of course.

We also met a few dis'ers. LarryJ, TiggerinBama and PolynesianPixie. I know others were there but we didn't see them. Sorry for your loss. Ha Ha. AuburnJen came too late so maybe next time we'll meet up. Happy Holidays to all of you and to all of you who are either at the fort or going this week I hope the peacocks and otters leave a mess for you.

Sounds like a great trip...I'm glad you had a good time. :) Really, I am. Really.

sounds like a good trip, one of these days we will make it down at the same time.

Ya know...common sense would tell Disney that $40 for a spot that they are asking $100 is better than having an empty spot for $0.00. I LOVE Jungle Cruise BECAUSE its so outdated and the cornball jokes are great. I hope they never change or omit it, but disney doesnt seem to care much for nostalgia...so cruise the jungle at every oportunity...I bet it wont be there much longer. Who doesn't know the answer to "How do you make a hanky dance?", and where else in the world will someone show you "the back-side of water" ....thats vintage disney. GREAT REPORT Stack, glad everything went well for ya'll. How'd ya like that Everest? Ya know their was a death on it while you were there....44yr old male had heart failure on it. I thought it was a great ride...but not quite heart attack material...poor guy must've had some problems and not even known it.

You got it, Rog. An article today in our local paper, The Lakeland Ledger, said he died from a congenital heart condition. It didn't elaborate any further than that. What better way to go than on a ride at Disney?? (not because of the ride - just the exit from this world!) It sure beats crashing into the ocean or skiing into a tree. (John Denver & Sonny Bono - not Colson)

I asked the girl at the front the same ? about the site fee. I said the campground is empty and you wouldn't take half price instead of nothing. She just kinda looked at me. They have a lot of people up front that could care less about the fort or it's visitors. I remember it was the same people every time you pulled up. Now it's the college kids. Nothing wrong with that, but the old people knew you if you visited a lot.

I'm sure Dr. G will have the case of the Everest death on her show in due time. She get's all of Disney's park victims. She recently had an episode where a young girl died at Typhoon Lagoon. It ended up being a virus that had attacked her heart and nothing could have been done. I've ridden Everest probably 50 times and I love the ride except for when you go thru the turn backwards. There is a lot of force during that point. Everybody has a date next to their name. You just don't know what it could be. Most people who die on these rides never knew they had a problem.

Shannone, Thanks for the confidence in your quote. Somehow I just can't feel all warm and fuzzy about it lmao. I'm sure you really mean it. :cool2:

I don't see Disney and Common Sense collide in the same sentence very often. I don't know if it will happen in my lifetime but, one day Disney will be forced back into the customer service business.

Donnie, How many bolts did you break this trip, or did they get it fixed for you.

2 bolts out of 4 this time Mike. I thought all 4 broke but it was a big dip in the road and all was ok. Pullrite recently came out with a universal capture plate that bolts on to the tongue and can be remomed very easily. It basically clamps to the camper and I've read good reviews. The guy who installed my hitch is supposed to get me one at cost so we'll see. I still have extree's lol just in case. I'm working on getting my rear deck put on too Mike. I'm waiting for the material to come in. I'm hoping my cart won't make the tongue weight too light. I'm sure my 4 wheeler won't, but the cart is pretty heavy.

LOL...you're so right about that...going down in a plane, you're screaming "oh Sh**, Im gonna DIIIEEEE", and ya do. Heading toward a tree at 40mph on skis, you're screaming "Oh Sh**, Im gonna DIIIEEE" and ya do. Going backwards @60mph on Everest, you're laughing and trying you're best to scream"Oh sh**, I hope this thing doesnt fall off the tracks", and it doesn't....but ya die anyway of heart failure because you were having such a great time!!! Yeah....I'd be okay going like that versus the other two options anyday!!!:cloud9:

Thats the one problem I have. If I keep the speed down its not bad, but then it takes FOREVER to get to the fort...

It was really great meeting you, Donnie! I wish we had met earlier so I could have had you over for Kungalooshes!!!
