In reading your journal, I've gotten the opportunity to reread posts or pay attention to details. So I'm going to comment on those ideas as I catch up.
Re: The Dr.'s appointment and the knee. I cannot imagine the complications and/or pain of running with a misaligned leg and different leg lengths. Are there any orthotics you could wear, in addition to the brace, that might address these issues?
Re: Jimmy Buffet. You know, I have this whole, beachy, hammocky, margarita and key-lime pie image of you now. I think YOU need to move to FL (as well).
Re: Aquaboxing/exercising. You know, the more I think about it, the better I like the idea of you getting your certification as an aqua-instructor. I don't know if you were just toying with that idea earlier, but I'm really taken with it.
Re: The 1/2 marathon course. Now, don't quote me on this, as much of my race was a blur. But I kind of liked it and didn't miss all the time in the parks. I seem to recall lots of spectators and a general buzz of excitement from the participants. It got me through, anyway, and I don't have the Minnie to compare it with.
Re: The RftC. I hope you're very proud of your time, in the hills, and the humidity. And I have very little experience in such events, but getting a PR (or matching a time) in such events seems to be difficult as it's such an egalitarian event geared toward non-racers. Anyway, I'm glad you had a great weekend. And wearing Amy's mom's name on your back...
Re: Survivor Stride. That's just darn cool. I'm tempted.
Re: Vitamin D and other supplements. Do you take any multivitamins. Is there something you should take for gluten sensitivity/celiac's. (I know that's probably an ignorant question, but I know nothing about what this diagnosis would mean for you.)
Re: The hair. I don't think I mentioned how much this would freak me out. I'm not much of a girly girl, or even very appearance conscious, but the hair....That, for me, was the hardest thing about chemo--the fear of losing hair. (I didn't, it just changed color, temporarily, and texture, permanently.) I'd definitely look into the connections with gluten sensitivity or celiac disease. (Like Susan said.) I'm going to continue to think good thoughts for you.
