Stacie's Journey for Weight Loss and the 1/2 Marathon Jan 09!

Hey folks! :)

So, today it's ugly here. I'm tired and the weather is not helping! I'ts gray and rainy outside. Yuk! The weekend was nice though.

Friday after work, I got my 8 miler in. It was SLOW. I tried a new place. It was nice, but hilly!!! I mainly walked it. Let's just hope my pace is MUCH quicker come this Sunday for the 15K! Let's just say if I had been doing the Disney 1/2 Marathon, I would have gotten swept! :sad2: It's done though. 8 miles done.

I'm hoping to get in a 30 min walk tonight and maybe a walk/run on Wednesday night. This week will be so busy! Trying to get as much time at work, and then tonight, we have to get new tires on the car, tomorrow I have to go to my seamstress to get a shirt altered for WDW, then it's off to a religous meeting, Wed is hair appointment, Thursday is back to the seamstress to pickup shirt and then regligious meeting and then Friday morning we leave!

I got most of the packing done this weekend. Yay! I should be able to finish putting everything in the suitcases on Wed night. I don't think Friday will come soon enough!

I am super excited for the 5K and 15K. I am really nervous though about the 15K. I know I can do the miles, it will just be time I am worried about. I know I will be just infront of the sweepers! I'm trying not to think too much about it though.

That's about it for me. I'm off to get eat breakfast now! I'm starving!

Stacie

Stacy, had you been doing the WDW half, there would not have been all those hills. They can make a massive difference, let me just say.

That's great that you got your 8 in. I have not gotten a run longer than 7.5 for this race, and I'm a little concerned, but it is getting late to worry about my distance or your time, I guess!

Sounds like you have a crazy-busy week coming up. Be sure to take some time to relax and visualize.

Stacie, I think you will do fine! As others have said, the sheer aspect of having so many lime green t'shirts there helping and encouraging, will be all the difference. :) I am gonna see if i can drag my sis to the DIS meet on Sat. night -- i would love for her to meet some of you too - as i know she is going thru the same thoughts! :)

You're just going to have such a great time this weekend. You've done so much training and prep work--as others have said, the hills DO make a difference. Plus, you've got all those cool shirts, your family's presence, and WISH friends. I think all the excitement of the weekend will help you do much better than you anticipate, too, and you'll have no problem staying ahead of the sweepers.

Stacie,
You have been doing great, don't think about the sweepers out there,I bet the adrenaline will kick in at Epcot and you will do just fine-you have been training after all.

All that flat Florida land, hills have made your quads strong.I can't wait to hear about it all when you get back.

Good Luck,
Linda
