Stacey and Ryan SOG 8/1/09 Updated 3/27 Hawaii Day 2

omg yes!! that would be so perfect!! not cheesy one little bit!! its classy- especially because she is your daughter.. awwww!! it will look so so good!!
Im excited to see what you both look like now- you have to get loads of photos of you both together in the dresses.

Misty is amazing- her photos look magical, i dont want anyone else to do my photos- the photos are important to me, because they can help look back on your day, and remember it, forever and ever, and i cant think of a better person to take my wedding photos than her. She is really lovely too.
But def still look into that other photographer, they might be better, and they might be cheaper too!

I agree with Stacey, you will look gorgeous, and Addison will look adorable! That is a great idea and she will love it I'm sure! She wont outshine you at all, you will both be beautiful that day I am totally sure! You need to post a pic of your dresses together for us :)

it will look amazing with yoy both in the same dresses - i would do the same if i had a baby daughter!

i cant wait for the photos of you both together!! and of course with Ryan! hehhe!! i cant wait for your wedding- its not even that far away!! :cool1:

Thanks, now I feel better about getting her that dress. Thanks for the comments. 5 months and 3 weeks to go! I can't believe it!

So, here is my problem. Ryan and I don't have a lot of money. He is in med school and I'm a teacher (and I'll be honest, I think teachers are underpaid, but I don't do it for the money). I didn't get my annual increase in salary this year and I won't get it next year either, due to our economy "crisis."

I woud LOVE to have Misty as my photographer, but I'm not sure if we can swing it. The guy who stood me up was around 600 and I have been looking at another photographer who is 500. I know these ones are just starting out so their pictures aren't going to be as amazing, but I always thought the pictures weren't that important to me. But the more I look on here, the more important they are becoming. SO! I'm going to sit down and look at my budget and see if I can afford Misty. I'm still going to check out this other photographer that Ryan's mom knows. And I e-mailed Misty and she is available!!! I will keep you updated!!!

Why dont you ask Misty if she has a smaller package, like 4 hours? Explain to her than you 'really want her as she is so fab ect' and tell her you are on a very tight budget... maybe she could do you a deal? Im sure i read on here that Misty does smaller packages if you just email her and ask. Have you thought about Randy? I think hes prices are cheaper (correct me if i am wrong!!!) but i am not sure.

I know Mistys package is about $2040 with the Disney discount, on her biggest package, so maybe just give her an email and see what she can do for you. I think we may have to ask her if she does a smaller hours package, as we cannot afford to spend $2040 - we will be on a tight budget too- Wayne is out of a job..so we cant go 'thinking big' at all. We havent even booked anything and we are thinking of ways to cut down on everything- just because at the moment, the exchange rate is terrible so it seems to be getting more and more expensive for us.

I understand what you mean totally, and it is horrible having to think of ways to cut down because of money, i get quite upset about it sometimes, but its life isnt it heh, but try and email Misty and see if she can help you out in any way- because im very sure i have read on here that people have only had her for a small amount of time - see what she suggests? If you really want her, im sure there is a way you can fit her into your budget- but first- she what prices she suggests.

:flower3:

Hey that would be awesome if you could get Misty! I know she has done smaller packages, so it does not hurt to ask, or maybe just get a package with "raw" footage, and you could upload the pics to snapfish and order the ones you want yourself... this would def save some $$$. I know randy does a smaller package (like 2-3 hours) for around $600... but I think Randy and Misty are both fairly comprable in terms of price, so I'm sure Misty could do something similar for you :)

I've asked about her intimate packages before, but she doesn't do them on Saturdays. I'm beginning to think I should of got married a different day of the week. Oh well. The other photographer had the nerve to write me an e-mail and ask me what is a good day to reschedule! How do I nicely write back "I DON'T THINK SO!"

Have you thought about Randy Chapman? We had him for our wedding and we loved him. Here is his smallest package. I have heard of him working with brides to stay in their budget. Also, I do agree with the PP that if you really want Misty, talk to her and she might be able to work with you.

Thanks! I e-mailed Randy Chapman throught his site the other day to see if he was available, but he still hasn't gotten back to me. I love his photos also!

How did I just find you PJ?

I'm behind, but your daughter is ADORABLE! and I think it will be super cute with her as a miniture you. Not distracting or cheezy at all.

That sucks about the photographer. Give Randy a few days. It took him almost a week for him to get back to me. He's super affordable, and very flexible (well I've only been working with him for like a week :rotfl: but he seems like it, and was really nice about some of my bizzare and last minute requests)

Your plans are coming along great! I'll definately be reading along.

Thanks for joining! I'm glad people are reading! I hope Randy gets back to me soon, I'm anxious to see if he is available.

oh i didnt realise Randy had such reasonable prices- i never knew he did a dvd only package for 450! thats really good! :cool1:

I just found your PJ as well and am excited to follow along with your adventure! I don't know much about the Shades of Green weddings so I'm excited to watch it unfold. The gazebo area looks beautiful! Addison is soooooooo cute! You must be so proud! Can you PM me a pic of your dress? I would love to see it and I think it is perfect that your dresses will match! Give Randy a few days and if not send him another e-mail or call. It sounds like he will be in your budget and he does great work. I also just wanted to say that I think it is great that you are a teacher- IMO definately THE most underpaid and underappreciated job! I have soooo much respect for teachers and think you have one of the hardest jobs in the world so :worship: :worship: :worship: THANK YOU FOR DOING WHAT YOU DO!:worship:

I totally agree with you saying that teachers have the hardest jobs. I was quite naughty at the beginning of high school, and its was mainly because i had a hard time (bullying). But, as i got older, i felt so bad about the way i had treated my teachers and i changed, i really respected them and i got along with them so well. I became very friendly with most of my teachers, and they was like mates to me in the end- we got on so well. I even used to go to some concerts with them (Counting crows!! yeaahhh!!!)

I also had a teacher when i was younger, ill never forget her, i was about 7 or 8, and i had this teacher called Miss Wood. She was the best teacher ever! I loved her to bits! It must be so good when you have an impact on a kids life when they remember you, i bet that is one of the good things you get when you are a teacher, having such an impact on kids lives that they remember you forever.

Hello! I've been following along but not really saying much...sorry :) How's your photographer quest coming along? I think the DVD package from Randy sounds awesome!! We didn't get married in WDW but we bought a DVD only package from our photographer to cut cost and I've loved all the stuff I've been able to do with the images. Good luck with everything :goodvibes

Yey! I read all of your PJ!

I agree with everyone that Addison is a little cutie.
I started my CP in May 2004 at the Columbia Harbour House perhaps we passed each other in the tunnel or road the westclock bus together!

I know I sampled Cupcake Crazy at the bridal show I went to on Sunday because I remember the name, not so much the cake though. it all kinda blended together after awhile lol.

I wish you luck with the photographer, I know it will all work out for you.

Can't wait to read more popcorn::

Welcome! I'm so glad more are joining. It makes the PJ more fun!! Thanks for your kind words about teachers. While it is underpaid and I do feel unappreciated (especially from parents) I couldn't imagine doing anything else! I love getting up for work in the mornings. I have an awesome class this year!!! I'm sad that we are more than half way done this year! I will PM you a link to the dress!

Thanks! I hope I'm making a difference in someone's life! I have a lot of former students who will come and say hi and talk to me in the mornings. They all tell me how much they miss me! So, maybe I am making a difference, which is one reason I became a teacher!

Thanks for letting me know it worked out for you. Were you able to print your pictures from your DVD/CD? That sounds like a good money saver to me! Which I'm all about! I was watching a wedding show and this bride was "cheap" and the planner called her the most frugal bride he has ever met. Obviously, he hasn't met me! You should speak up more often, I love hearing advice and opinions, that is what is going to make this whole experience fun and unique!

Thanks for joining! What bridal show did you go to? There wasn't a lot of cake at the one I went to, but the Cupcake Crazy was amazing. I have been e-mailing Karen from there and she is so nice and flexible. I'm not sure how much wedding cake normally is, but it sounds reasonable. Maybe we did cross paths at some point. DF likes to eat at Columbia Harbour so who knows! Are you still working at Disney?

I went to the Orlando Bridal Show at the Marriott World Gateway on Sunday. There was a ton of food there!
My friend got her wedding cake at a bakery named Sprinkles. She loves the place. She had them match the And They Lived Happily Ever After cake that Disney does. She also had them do a Turkey cake for a Thanksgiving party a few years ago. It was awesome!

I do still work for Disney, but I'm not in the parks anymore. I'm salaried and work boring old M-F 8-4 lol

But the boring old M-F 8-4 comes with some great perks!!!! I have heard of Sprinkles. I might look into them. I was also considering Publix. I LOVE Publix cake.

Ok. The more and more I think about it, the more nervous I get about having an outside wedding in August! AM I CRAZY!!?? I hate the weather in August, it is so hot. One thing I remember about working at Disney was the hot summers in my tomorrowland costume (seriously, I think those win the prize for the hottest Disney costume, they were HORRIBLE!).

The more I keep thinking about it, the more I want to move my wedding inside. It's just not as pretty. And then I keep thinking if I put fans and water bottles on the chairs, maybe my guests won't be as bad. But then I remember it's AUGUST! What to do, what to do? Any input??

Well your doing a short ceremony right?? So I say keep it outside and do the fans. I went to my friends up here in Aug and it was 90+ but I was actually ok b/c they had fans (and it was a 15 min ceremony) then we all got to go inside for a cocktail hour to cool off. As long as it's not an hour long ceremony I think your fine! Plus you really want to do it outside, and you'll only get married once so it should be what you want right?
If you are still nervous do you have the option of doing it indoors later on if you change your mind??

no one would moan at your wedding! Especially if it was only 15mins long, i agree with Sam, if it was an hour long ceremony in the heat, then i suppose they could moan. The fans are a great idea, and a pre reception afterwards would be great with some nice cool drinks. Putting fans and waterbottles on the chairs is a really nice idea and shows you care - and proves you are looking after your guests so they would have no reason to complain about the heat.

Hello
