Stacey and Ryan SOG 8/1/09 Updated 3/27 Hawaii Day 2

Hello
I just read your pj and ihave to say

your daughter how cute she reminds me of boo of monster inc she is the cutest

aww cant wait for more

Welcome!!! I have people all the time tell me she reminds them of Boo! That's one of her favorite words also! I'm glad to have someone else joining in!

no one would moan at your wedding! Especially if it was only 15mins long, i agree with Sam, if it was an hour long ceremony in the heat, then i suppose they could moan. The fans are a great idea, and a pre reception afterwards would be great with some nice cool drinks. Putting fans and waterbottles on the chairs is a really nice idea and shows you care - and proves you are looking after your guests so they would have no reason to complain about the heat.

Well your doing a short ceremony right?? So I say keep it outside and do the fans. I went to my friends up here in Aug and it was 90+ but I was actually ok b/c they had fans (and it was a 15 min ceremony) then we all got to go inside for a cocktail hour to cool off. As long as it's not an hour long ceremony I think your fine! Plus you really want to do it outside, and you'll only get married once so it should be what you want right?
If you are still nervous do you have the option of doing it indoors later on if you change your mind??

I think my ceremony might be around 30 minutes. But it's about 87 degrees outside right now and it is feeling too hot for me and it's only February!! I'm going to talk more about it with Ryan and see what he thinks.

I heard back from Randy Chapman and he is available for my date! YAY! I will let you know if I book him! Thanks for the hint (I just assumed he was out of my price range) No more assuming from now on!

Thanks for letting me know it worked out for you. Were you able to print your pictures from your DVD/CD? That sounds like a good money saver to me! Which I'm all about! I was watching a wedding show and this bride was "cheap" and the planner called her the most frugal bride he has ever met. Obviously, he hasn't met me! You should speak up more often, I love hearing advice and opinions, that is what is going to make this whole experience fun and unique!

You're welcome!! I only hope that it helps you not be so stressed out about the photographer. We looked at plenty of photographers and packages that were in the thousands and thousands of dollars. Even though I loved their work I knew we couldn't afford it. After thinking about it for a while I realized that there are plenty of websites for picture printing out there and I could do a lot of the stuff myself. I am super happy with our decision plus it has given me stuff to keep myself busy since I don't have "wedding stuff" to do anymore  . To answer your original question...yes, we are able to print from our CD. I recommend www.mpix.com for printing purposes, I find them to be extremely reasonable but still have really good quality. So far I have printed out the following using our pictures...thank you cards, prints (ranging in sizes from wallets - 16x20), photo albums, calendars (for our work offices) and I even made myself a mouse pad for my desk at work :goodvibes I didn't get all of that stuff done with the mpix website though (only the picture prints). PM if you would like more information. I used several different websites and can let you know what I thought of each of them if you would like. Good luck with all your planning. I hope this helps to know that you can still do a TON of stuff with your pictures without paying TONS of money to have the photogrpaher do it themselves :goodvibes

It's true I do have great perks and I fully enjoy them! I shouldn't say my job is boring, I love my job, just not the sitting at a desk part lol.

I hear ya on the heat. Will there be any shade for your guests during the ceremony? As much as love outdoor ceremonies 30 minutes in the Orlando sun in August may be too much.

Thanks again! I can handle being creative on a computer, just not the paper kind of creative, so maybe I can come up with some good stuff. I'm so excited he is available. I'm going to call him soon and we will see what happens from there! Does anyone know if he does the editing/photoshop stuff with his smaller package? Does he even do his smaller package on Saturdays? I know Misty doesn't.

One of the few things I miss about working at Disney is getting in free. I hate having to buy the annual pass every year.

You are very right about 30 minutes in the heat being a killer. I keep having flash back to working at Astro Orbiter in the dead of summer. HOT tomorrowland costume, no shade, it was HORRIBLE! I was drenched by the time rotation came around. EEWW

Hi there! :wave2:
Hope all the planning is going well! yay for Randy being free! That is very good news, his pics on here are awesome!
I was reading you worked in tomorrowland?? That sounds like so much fun! Do you bring Addison to MK all the time and tell her about it?? Honestly if I was little again and my mum used to work for disney I would be bragging about it all over the playground lol!
Hope you had a fun Valentines Day!:goodvibes

You crack me up. We took Addison to the MK yesterday!! We love taking her. It is fun watching her reactions to everything. I think she likes going. And I think she will eventually like going on rollercoasters! She puts her hands up on the tram, TTA, and even my car and says "WWEEE" I'm sure when she is old enough to understand we will tell her that we used to work there. And everytime we get off of Buzz Lightyear we will tell her this is where mommy and daddy met!!!

thats so sweet! And I am very jealous that you went to the MK yesterday! You definetly have a thrill junkie on your hands with Addison, thats too cute that she puts her hands up and yells :lmao: !

ooh that would be the coolest job for your parents to have ''my mommy and daddy worked in Walt Disney World!' .. i wish i could say that!! hehe!

GUESS WHAT!!!! I've decided on a photographer!!! FINALLY!!!! I will be mailing my contract and deposit tomorrow to.... Randy Chapman! YAY! I used to read TR with brides who had Randy and I was so jealous, I didn't realize how affordable he is. I just assumed he was out of my price range based on his pictures! I'm super excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:yay: Yay for Randy!!! So exciting:banana:    ! I'm glad it all worked out for you guys, Randy's work is awesome!!!:cool1:

pixiedust: Congrats on getting Randy! He did my friends wedding in October. He was great. We would pose for pictures for our own cameras and he would come over and snap ones of us too. Their pics came out great!

Thanks everyone. I'm so excited about having Randy!

I am also finishing the contract for our harp player. She will be at the ceremony. I am thinking about having my cousin's friend sing and play the guitar during our cocktail hour. I thought it would be nice to change things up a bit.

This is just a quick update because I haven't done anything new for the wedding. FCAT (our state's standardized test) is coming up in a couple weeks and I'm starting to stress a bit. It's a big deal in third grade because pretty much if they don't pass, they don't get to move on to fourth grade (unless they pass summer school). It is too much stress for my students and I spend a lot of time calming them down and telling the it's going to be fine!! Too much stress for an 8 year old if you ask me!

aw well being a good teacher, they will be fine! Once its all over they will wonder what all the fuss was about. Hope youre not stressed either- is it the holidays over there? it is here!

that would be so great for your cousins friend to sing for you! i love a harp player- i went to a wedding last year and the lady was playing up to date songs like Justin Timberlake on it- it sounded strangely elegant still, everything they play on them just sounds so relaxing!!

Ryan's mom just came back from the Philippines and got some stuff for our wedding. She got some greenish/sage sashes for our chair covers. They are beautiful. She also got some gorgeous fans that we are going to hand out before the ceremony. They were all hand painted in the Philippines and she had them write "Stacey and Ryan 8-1-2009 on the back. I left them at my mom's but I will take a pic and post later this week. They are all different colors but they are all beautiful. Now, it makes me excited to have an outdoor ceremony so they can be used!

After your post on my TR, I thought I would come to check out your PJ. Shades of Green is a beautiful location, I have seen some wonderful weddings held there, so I look forward to reading more about your plans.

Congrats on getting Randy  :woohoo: :cool1: :thumbsup2 :dance3: He was definitely one of the best decisions we made for our big day. He has been fantastic with all of our orders and follow-up since the wedding. You definitely won't be disappointed.

YAY! Thank you for joining. It's almost like having a celebrity on my PJ!! I read your whole PJ and TR but was always a lurker! Thanks for coming over.

I'm glad you liked Randy, I loved your pictures! I'm so excited about having him as our photographer!

ooh i bet those sashes will look lovely - i have started to see lots of sage colours around and it reminds me of you and your wedding! I think its a lovely colour. Those fans will be great too- and being personalised i bet they look beautiful, your guests will love them, a lovely keepsake and really special. That was nice of Ryans mum.

I cant wait to see photos!

Hope you have a great time when your uncle comes to visit you tomorrow! Do you have anything planned? I hope he brings you loads of sweetie and choccy goodies! :cool1:
