Well it's only a week away for planning excursions and we are trying to decide between the following 3 excursions on St Thomas:

Doubloon Sail and Snorkel
Wild thing Beach and Snorkel
Captain Nautica's St John Snorkeling

The major differrence appears to be where the snorkeling takes place: Buck Island, St Thomas or St Johns

Any thoughts or prior expierences ????

We did not do excursion on Saint Thomas. We went to dawn beach on our own and attempted to snorkel! It was kind of funny! I don't know of the water was unusually rought his day or just rough at this beach but we could not stop swallowing water! Have a blast!

i went snorkeling off buck island, and personally i thought it was very good. Not lots of coral, but tons and tons of fish, and the captain of the boat kept feeding them. The water was very clear and you could see about forty feet to the bottom.

We went snorkeling in Honeymoon Bay in St. John on a Disney-booked excursion and LOVED it. We think we'll do this one again next year.

The excursion we took to go to buck island was called something like the St. Christopher Shipwreck, but could have changed names by now...

Have to contradict my sister on this one. The rough water was in St. Maarten. Coki Beach in St. Thomas was very calm and quite nice.

We took a van (provided by the coki people, lol) over to Coki Beach for the snorkling, and it was wonderful!
