St Thomas cancelled today

Do you know how many cases there are on board?
No - we just know we have them because Vibe and Edge had been closed all week (and part of last week) due to staffing issues. They are not telling passengers it's because of covid, but we are assuming that is the reason.

Carnival Magic is in port also and they are debarking passengers.

Someone on your sailing reported the announcement claims it’s less than 1% of all crew and guests…
There is conflicting information depending who you ask on the ship. Someone said 29 cases in the crew. Someone else said less than 1%. Someone else said between 1-4%. No one seems to believe the party line that it was cases in st Thomas especially since carnival ship was allowed in at the same time

If it was cases in St. Thomas, I would think the carnival ship wouldn’t be allowed to disembark either.

We received a message around 7:30 this morning from the captain of a boat we had chartered for today in St. Thomas. Port officials received an email saying St Thomas was denying entry of fantasy due to health issues. Hours later the announcement was made on the boat. $200 per stateroom credit given and 20% savings on future bookings.

The captain announced this morning on Fantasy that there is less than 1% of crew+ guest who tested COVID+ on board. He also added that everyone was doing well and protocols for contact tracing was in placed.

There was about 15% passengers testing positive at the port on 12/26, who could not board and currently we have about 2100 guests on board.

15% that tested positive, or 15% that couldn't board because someone in their group was positive? Seems a bit high but who knows.

My daughter commented that we were going awfully fast. We are getting quite a bit of motion.
This graphic says 19.5 knots. A Google search lists 22 knots is normal cruising speed, so slower than normal.
