Good morning all,
I will be on the Treasure May of 2025 and would like to do a beach excursion. Here is the question is there any transportation that you don't have to go on what i call the Sketchy open bus ride that I hear is so terrifying? Are there beach excursions vis water transports . Any advice to avoid or not avoid what must be , is greatly appreciated ?
Thank you in advance

I totally get that in some Destinations, but St. Thomas isn't one of them personally. You have to do what makes you comfortable though, but we have Cabbed it/Taxi it and I regularly recommend that to friends who cruise (Disney and other lines) and have never had an issue. Way cheaper than the cruiseline transfers as well (which usually are like $49-$59 a person).

St Thomas is a US Territory. It is very safe. I’ve traveled there with my family (not on a cruise). Just keep in mind that the taxis charge per person (not per ride). Just keep an eye on the time and/or schedule your return trip with the same taxi driver.

Anytime we’ve done a beach day on a cruise we just book it ourselves, easy and so much cheaper (we’ve never traveled more than 20 minutes from the port).

The open busses aren't sketchy. If you get off the ship, you can find them lined up waiting for passengers. Just tell the person which beach, pay your $8 or whatever, and get on. When you are ready to leave, head for the parking lot, where more busses will be waiting. You'll be surrounded by other cruise ship passengers. No problem.
